Agree with brihead here great to be able to get my rant on with people that don't just stare blankly and reply 'so how much can you curl then?'

Also I hope the protein gods crush them down but it does keep them out of my gym :-)

In the uk we have crap like this but they are all really expensive too, my gym now, a few squat racks some strongman kit and a load of plates is 15 pounds a month cheaper than our equivalent to pf guess we are a few years behind the curve here, business opportunity of anyone can

With as much fun as we poke of their place or fitness trainers in general (the bad ones at least), etc, we would have to expect something like this every once in a while.

I thought it was pretty humorous!

Someone on my facebook just posted this video with the captioj of: "Hey pajama pants guy and friend who states: "There is not enough plates in the gym for me" ...real statement...this is for you...idiot"

    I responded with:

Planet Fitness is a joke. What a stereotypical, non sensical advertisement. Yes, every strong guy on the planet happens to also be a complete moron... Get real. They pride themselves on being judgment free, but as soon as a single weight rattles some bull**** alarm goes off and a scrawny employee comes up to you to explain how you're scaring others. Anyone that believes anything that Planet Fitness does is good is probably a fat, lazy slob. See? I can stereotype too.
"Donít fall for the crap that people are peddling on message boards, in magazines or on TV. Get your **** in order, and get your training in order. Start kicking ass, and take out the crap that doesnít matter. Start doing and believing in the stuff that works, and do it today and forever. You want science and studies? **** you. Iíve got scars and blood and vomit."

OK, let me get this straight: They have a "free pizza night"?
    At a gym?

That is pure genius and epic fail at the same time.

haha i was thinking the same thing, i thought i was missing something when nobody was pointing it out.

its probably a backup program they put in place. prohibit heavy weights and give out junk food, now nobody gains muscle OR loses weight.

The problem with PF is that their business model works. And the fitness industry has taken notice. Three smaller gyms by me joined together and offered low monthly rates like PF and significantly changed their equipment to a more PF-like approach.

The consequence is that smaller, actual gyms that allow BBing and PLing lose their not-so-serious clientele. This makes it harder to stay in business and keep their more dedicated members (higher dues, etc.). Lets be honest, not many of us utilize personal training or protein shakes or other crap most gyms peddle. This is where revenue comes from. That and the people who work out 20 minutes and leave or don't even show up. PF is tailor-made for members like that.

I do foresee dedicated lifters creating better home gyms thankfully to the plenty of good DIY options and equipment websites. Playing on the typical "meathead" image will work for PF, but not every person who picks things up and puts them down is a moron.

That commercial that's on the radio all the time for PF is the stupidest thing I ever heard:

"If you have a tattoo of your bicep, on your bicep....planet fitness is not for you."
"If you can only count to six, by using your abs....planet fitness is not for you."
"If you don't pick up babies, because you might crush them....planet fitness is not for you."

    And so on....

So basically the radio commercial is saying, "If you are NOT trying to gain muscle, get ripped, or get strong, Planet Fitness is for you!"

Wow, I don't know why the existence of this place annoys me so much, but it does, and I can't help it.

That's bull****. The dude in the video was just trying to be nice and that girly boy had the audacity to throw him out. Did anyone see that "strength circuit" he pointed out? Looked intense.

    What a joke.
I heard this tonight and immediately came here to see if anyone else had. ****ing unbelievable, especially from the 'judgement free zone'. Makes me want to go to the nearest Planet Fitness and chuck a 50 lb DB (if I can find one amongst the little pink ones) right through their mirrors. Whole gym is a ****ing joke. I am actually legitimately offended by their commercials (and I'm not even big, I've ****in lost weight and am back down to 150ish unfortunately), but just their level of ignorance and stereotype is ****ing disgusting. Honestly, I really think someone SHOULD right a petition or some sort of formal complaint. It's outrageous.

I'm mildly amused by PF, but nowhere near as 'offended' and so many others have stated.
Maybe it's because I'm 42 and over the years I've learned that 90% of everything is crap.
