The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

last real gym training day until after the contest, got event training on Saturday, then I will do some light shit at the beginning of the week, then it's game day on that Saturday. Next week is supposed to be my 5/3/1 week, so I will delay that obviously.

Wanted to get some heavier weight in my hands on front squats, but still left quite a bit in the tank.

    Thanks

It's a ways from you, it's down in Pueblo. Gonna drive down next Friday night and stay down there on Saturday, so I don't have to leave balls early.

    Thanks

Just worked on pressing really today, mostly contest weights. Think I have the keg and stone down now. Worked up to a 250 axle clean and jerk/press. Was pretty easy.

Deads: Worked up to 455x3 (with just rehband soft back support on) Felt wicked easy 
Split Jerks: Worked up to 155x2

Contest week, so just getting the blood flowing. Didn't expect to go that heavy on deads, but man I felt great, lol.

Will do some light squats and bench on Wednesday

Thanks, my axle is coming along nicely, I wish my log was doing the same. I can't jerk worth a shit with the log, need a lot more practice with the log.

Lol, I might be able to power clean it since that axle has knurling on it and grip isn't really an issue, the problem that I run into is how the plates/tires don't really rotate, so the catch scares the shit out of me, lol

Thanks, the top 2 lightweights in the state sat this one out, so that was good for me, lol.

I'll post some vids up. Wasn't happy with my overhead (well log) and made a mistake with the keg on keg/farmers medley but redeemed myself by winning the keg toss.

Was supposed to be a 280 stone over bar, but the guy who was supposed to make new stones for the show had to bail at the last moment so we ended up using a 250 stone. Too light, I am not a fan of rep fests, lol

lol, I train with 1 of them every event session and the other on occasion. They are both top 10 type guys at Nationals, so it will probably be a year or 2, lol. No big deal.

    Yesterday was Tuesday obviously, lol.

Did Bench today and will do overhead on Saturday. I wanted to do overhead with my axle (that ironically came 5 minutes after I left for the gym, lol but oh well)

    Wednesday-Bench
    Bench: 225x5 255x3 285x3
    Close Grip Floor Press: 185x6 225x4 135x13
    DB Rows: 100x3x13
Banded 45 degree Hypers: Avg Band x2x8
Face Pulls 1 set of 15
    DB Side Bends: 95sx1x8

flat footed bench starting to feel better.

Did the hypers instead of dimel deads today, will probably alternate the 2 but will bring my light band next time. Trying to hammer that low back/glutes to help with deadlift lockout.

    thanks bro

    Friday-Squat
    Squats: 295x5 330x3 370x4 (added belt)
    Front Squats: 185x8 205x8
    Romanian Deads: 155x3x12
Banded 45 degree Hypers: Avg Band x3x8
    Decline Sit-Ups: 90x2x10

Going to do overhead with my axle tomorrow and probably take the sled out after. Then it's supposed to be a deload week, but I basically took a deload week last week. So IDK what I am going to do yet. Anyways, here are the skwats from today. I think the bar was bent on the right side, not that it probably made a difference, but I switched it out for when I did front squats. Just hammering away on that posterior chain. My low back is definitely a weakness.

    Saturday-Overhead
Overhead with axle:175x5 195x3 220x1 ( actually 222 wrist wraps, split jerk) 242x1 (added elbow sleeves and belt, split jerk) 262xNot quite, close just ran out of room chasing it.
    Military Press:135x8 155x6 immediately 115x8
    Pendlay Rows: 155x3x8
    Seated DB Cleans:20sx13 20sx10
Decline Russian Twists: 45lb plate x2x8

Was so close on that 262 axle. See for yourself. Oops about the mirror, but that is a dumb place for a mirror. 1 guy was watching me and said, "I didn't see shit, lol" so that's good. haha
