The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Thanks, I wish my overhead was doing the same thing, lol.

Overhead is steadily progressing though, just not as fast as deadlift.

lol, that has how I squat. Kinda like a hybrid olympic style squat, so I try to capitalize on that rebound effect.

Deload week but I am doing the 65%x3 75%x3 85%x3 (not pushing last set for rep maxes) since I feel so freaking great. Will do all work beltless, etc

    Monday-Pulls
    Pulls: 335x3 385x3 440x3

    Tuesday-Overhead
    Axle: 156x3 180x3 204x3

    Thursday-Squats
    Squats: 265x3 305x3 350x3

    Friday
    Bench: 205x3 235x3 265x3

although with trip coming up for Thanksgiving, I might move Bench with Overhead on Wed, then take Fri and Sat off and start next cycle on Sunday with Deads. Have to be a little flexible to get in all my shit before the Wed of Thanksgiving week (although I can probably train on that Wednesday morning, gotta look at the schedule)

edit: Think I am just going to do the "normal" deload but do deads and squats tomorrow, then bench and overhead on tues. Then take Wed off and start the new cycle on Thursday with deads. I feel great, so this wont be a problem I don't think. Then once Thanksgiving hits, I will be taking 5 days off, so yeah.

yeah, they have a knurled axle down in aurora (well they have a few of each) and the knurled is a lot easier than the smooth. With the knurled I can continental clean (with a double overhand) 260+ but with the smooth, I have to start with an over/under grip and then switch once it is on the chest. Big pain in the ass, lol

    Thursday-Pulls
Pulls: 340X5(DOH) 395X5(DOH) 445X11 (added belt, hook grip)
Speed Pulls with Avg Bands: 185x5x2
    Front Skwats: 135x5 185x5 225x8
    Wide Stance Good Mornings: 185x2x8

Need to hit up the ab wheel later

Think I had a 12th on deads, hook grip started to slip (not sure why, but eh) might have had to hitch it up though. I love deads.

    Friday-Close Grip Bench
Close Grip Bench: 175X5 200X5 225X12 (had at least 1-2 in the tank)
    Z presses: 115x8 135x2x6
DB rows: 130sx2x8 130sx13(Kroc Rows with Straps)
    DB Shrugs: 130sx20(straps)
Ab Wheel: 45lb plate on back x8

Was pleasantly surprised by close grip reps. Maybe doing bench before overhead (in the training week) is the reason. Overhead is the priority though, so I will be putting overhead before bench in the training week again in 1-2 cycles

    Sunday-Squats
    Skwats: 275X5 315X5 355X8 (added belt)
Front Skwats: 225x3 255x3 285x3 (front skwats are always beltless)
RDLs with Axle: 339x2x6 (straps, always beltless)

Moving ab stuff to mostly upper body days, I think my core takes a beating on lower body days, lol. No idea why I did RDLs with axle, just wanted to see if my straps are long enough. They are barely long enough. If I ever have an axle dead event with staps, I will pick up some axle straps.

    Friday-Close Grip Bench
    Close Grip Bench: 185X3 210X3 240X9
DB Bench (Neutral Grip): 100sX6 75sX8 50sX6 (drop set style)
DB Rows: 130sX10 130sX13 (straps on 2nd set)
    Face Pulls: 110X2X15

Got events tomorrow, so I kept the volume pretty low. One of my last event training sessions until I move back to Florida in the middle of December.

I've been calling my DB Rows Kroc rows, but my form really stays fairly strict, so IDK.

Tires: Worked up to a triple on the 750. Got the 1000 kneed, but that was it (still a PR though, lol)
Yoke Picks: Worked up 620 beltless. Put belt on at 710. Worked up to 1000lbs and held it for about 5 seconds.
Stones to 56” Yoke: Put on tacky for 300. Went for a double on the 300 but lost it on the bar. Came back a few minutes later and did another single with 300.

Did the yoke picks with my proper yoke stance and not super wide
Almost died on the 2nd rep trying to save it, lol

Nice work man! I love front squats too. I was never a fan until I worked them into my rotation this fall and my squat and DL took off. Not a coincidence.
