The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Question regarding volume

Hello all, I'm pretty new to lifting seriously. Hopefully I can word this so it makes sense. I've been running a 5x5 program doing an upper/lower body split. It's 4 days a week and looks something like:
    Monday: Upper Body(bench,rows etc.)
Tuesday: Lower Body (Squat as the main lift)
    Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: Upper Body(Something like Overhead press with Bench as accessory)
Friday: Lower Body(Deadlift as main lift)
    Then rest the weekend.
I'm implementing all the big compound movements and will often switch around some accessory excercises weekly. But everyday I work the entire upper body or the entire lower body. My question is if I should be concerned about volume when trying to work in so many muscle groups in 1 day. I see many guys in the gym, for example on their chest day, doing Bench press, then Incline, then dumbell flies then dumbell press and so on. So I feel as though with an upper/lower split I'm not getting in the volume for each muscle group that I should be. Should I change something around or stick with what I've been doing? I have seeing some good gains, but some of my lifts are starting to stall. Hopefully this makes sense. Looking forward to your replies. Thanks.

Dont worry about what they are doing.

    Has it been working?
