Has anybody had luck specializing while cutting. I am going to attempt to cut about 10 to 12 lbs, at the same time I am going to specialize on arm strength and size. I remember Dan John gaining arm size on a cut because it was a bodypart that he wasn't used to training directly. I am hoping to get the same results.
I've had moderate success doing so, and if your gonna do it, a small group like arms is the way to go. Nutrient timing on arm days and proper training will be more important.
Other than that, you have to be realistic. You aren't going to add much size while losing weight unless you are currently overfat and your arms are way under-developed.
Strength short term is doable though
Horray for being way overfat!!! Ha. OR didn't you cut weight a few years back and have some luck with gaining some strength?

well that makes no sense. seems to me, logically, if you're increasing work done on any specified area (my interpretation of specialization as stated), systematic stress will unequivocally increase which further negatively impacts recovery while in a calorie deficit.
