The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Floor press challenge

I challenge everyone to go out and floor press between now and next Friday. Let's see what you all have. Video is needed. Whenever I know I am going to video a lift, I get a little anxious. I have been training like a b!tch because of my leg for the past two weeks. I need to get out and push myself. I thought a friendly competition could push us all.

    Supplements I currently take: Nitrean , BCAA , Creatine 500 , Multi-Plus , Fish Oil

The challenge is to put up the best press you can. To compete against yourself, not the other members.

Have I been doing this wrong? I've been putting my knees up with my feet on the floor.

I have never done floor press's. Is it harder or easier than regular flat benching? Im a raw lifter w/ a max of 400lbs at 220lbs, would I be able to press more or less in this exercise?

Ill try to remember to do these on monday when I do chest and video it but I have no idea if it will be much weight. lol

You have no leg drive with floors, so normally your max is lower than your normal 1rm

Here's mine. I always do them with my knees bent. However, I do not use them to press. As you will see on my 565 fail, I push them out instead of into the ground. I am really pissed about missing the 565. I looked back through my log and my best was 555. I was around 20 lbs heavier then. I am also pissed beacuse Tee Tee could not make it to the gym. We had been sh!t talking via text all week. I was looking forward to the friendly competition.

I want to take this again in about a month and go straight from 495 to 565 or 575. I feel stronger than ever, I need to prove it. I'll need to string together a perfect month of training, nutrition/supplementation, resting, and recuperating to achieve this goal. I'm putting up a calendar and I will get it. I need to get my nagging pec injury and thigh problem resolved by then also.
