The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    quick stop by

    fridays training

    squat - worked upto 225 x 3 x 2
bench- worked upto 315 paused ?(2nd attempt)

    Today-

    Ham curls
    2 sets of 20

Quad ext. (gayest most pointless machine ever in existence)
    2 sets of 20

    45 degree back raise
    2 sets of 15

    decline sit ups
    2 sets of 15

    Foam rolled
    I.T bands
    quads
    hams
    glutes
    lower/upper back

and plenty of stretching... have a little annoying hip tightness on the right side, seems to be subsiding but doing little movement every night to try and keep it loose, weighed myself saturday morning and was 109.5kg (110kg/242lbs class im shooting for) with clothes on... so i think i can eat relatively normal this week and maybe cut carbs out say 3pm this saturday and limit water and I should wake up on sunday morning under, maybe even a small breakfast... dont want any nasty surprises though haha, hey... at least i havent got to water load!

It's a good time to focus on the mobility work now. It will pay off on the day when you have no aches or tightness and feel ready to go.

I'm interested to see how you taper off this week. Just a few sets of light exercises each session?

weighed in wayyyyy under, dont know whats gone on there!!! should have monitored my weight better but we forgot the scales and gym ones were broke! workload has obv caught up with me... passed on 3rd squat, was going to shoot for the british record but 2nd attempt rolled up my back and was a grinder... thought id save my back for the rest to come

bench went well, need to work on a the height thing, as comp benches are lower then our bench at the gym

deadlift was okay, only 5lbs off best meet pull... not a bad weekend really weighing in at what i did which shocked me! time to put some muscle back on!

back to it tuesday with some new idea's... gonna do a 6 week training block sort of thing, deload xmas week, then see what happens from there meet wise etc!

    thanks JC! its all experience!

I am pleased and im not to be honest.. Im pleased I actually got 3 deadlifts in and pulled that 512 out the bag when I was un sure how deadlifts would go(should have done alot more), cant complain at a meet bench PR, but I sort of knew that was coming anyway as bench has been flying(especially gym wise again!!!) once again lifts in training went better and didnt display my full strength at the meet... best total to date is 1298, so i wasnt too far off at a lower bodyweight

Need to be alot better though!

    Lower body acc.

This day will replace DE lower work from now onwards..

SSB Low box squat -(beltless+wider stance)
    bar x 10
    145 x 10
    185 x 10
    185 x 10
    210 x 10
    210 x 10

    Seated Good mornings
    100 x 20
    100 x 20
    100 x 20

    Dimmel Deadlift

    135 x 20
    135 x 20
    135 x 20

    Hanging leg raises
    4 sets of 10 reps

kept rest periods really short and moved swiftly through each exercise... brutal and effective way of doing things.. really lit up my posterior chain nicely

the reason i have scrapped DE lower work is because i think they were not really doing anything for me as i wasnt consistent enough with them and i would frequently find myself slapping more weight on or wanting to which effects max effort work.. this way forces me to keep it light as the reps are alot higher and i can slap some size on weaker area's... another major factor is the success i had last training cycle with scrapping speed bench for rep work.
