The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    R/E Bench

Close grip bench - paused (thumbs from smooth)
    bar x lots
    135 x 5 x few
    225 x 3
    ---
    245 x 5
    245 x 5
    245 x 5
    245 x 5
    245 x 5

lots of tricep work, extentions/pushdowns and some curls and shoulder raises, not alot to write home about as expected. First few sets felt very off but got better and into the swing of things. Still feel quite empty and bodyweight is down quite dramatically as expected. Best get my eat on.

    ME Lower

    SSB Bar Squats
    bar x 5 x 3
    135 x 5
    275 x 5
    225 x 5
    265 x 3
    315 x 3
    340 x 3
    355 x 1
    375 x 1
    405 x 1

    1.5" Block Pull
    225 x 3
    315 x 3
    355 x 3
    405 x 3 x 6

    Belt squats
    3 sets of 20 reps

    Hanging Leg Raises
    2 sets of 15

weird night, the squats felt horrificly heavy, cant complain for first lower session back though, will get back into sure enough. Safety squat bar is kicking the sh*t out of us all lately! block pulls were delightful as ever, no stretch from the bottom and pulling through a sticking point so hamstrings really got a kicking. productive session I suppose!

thanks JK, they are totally worth the investment, we picked ours up pretty cheap and put a bit in each. Awesome tool, really tests your thoracic region when the weights get heavy and also good for anybody who struggles to get under a normal bar, through injury or poor mobility etc. Id kill for a cambered bar!

after watching several video's and looking at pictures of bill kazmaier lifting heavy things, I have decided I want to get bigger. Who doesnt right, lost about 10lbs from my illness the other week and it wasnt even stomach related! devastating! was back where i was after i dieted/carb back loaded so got about 4kg of bodyweight to play with now before I am even at my weight, let alone cutting down to get to it! good session, redeemed from friday. Knew that was just an off day and no strength from illness, that also concludes 3 weeks of squat work with the SSB, back to normal bar next for next wave leading into max week. Need to get back into full flow and get some pause squats in coming weeks. My whole upper back, mid back and lower are fried already.

    R/E bench (bench acc.)

    Close Grip Pauses
    bar x lots
    95 x lots
    135 x 5 x 2
    175 x 3
    225 x 3
    ----
    255 x 3
    265 x 3
    265 x 3
    275 x 3
    275 x 3
    300 x 1 (touch n go, ridiculously easy)

    top set :

    Military Press(strict)
    bar x lots
    135 x 10
    135 x 10
    135 x 10

    Tricep Pushdowns
    4 sets of 15

    Seated DB power cleans
    3 sets of 10

    curls
    few sets

gonna get my rows in tommorow, bench is feeling good. Feels great when you go from ego breaking weights for strict reps and volume and it transfers well to hieavier weights. First reps are flying up, seems like the explosive power is coming on nicely, will be cool to see what happens when I go back to comp grip

    bar x 10
    135 x 5
    175 x 5

    315 x 2 + 25 chain
    315 x 2 + 25 chain
    315 x 2 + 45 chain
    315 x 2 + 45 chain
    315 x 2 + 85 chain
    315 x 2 + 85 chain

    top set :

High bar close stance pause squats

    135 x 10
    175 x 10
    225 x 10

    BB rows
    3 sets of 15

    Decline Abs
    3 sets of 10

kept it relatively stress free tonight, the GM's were a PR and left a lot in the tank, same with the deadlifts, just getting in some good work was the intent of the day as next week will be pulling (hopefully) big off a deficit.
