    ME Deadlift

just the way this training is played out. Had to deadlift again tonight.

    1.5' Deficit Deadlift
    bar x 20
    135 x 5 x 2
    225 x 5 x 2
    315 x 3
    405 x 3
    450 x 2
    450 x 2
    450 x 2
    450 x 2
    450 x 2

    Snatch Grip Deadlift (from floor)
    340 x 8
    340 x 8

    DB rows
    100's x 10
    100's x 10
    100's x 10

    Shrugs
    225 x 20
    225 x 20

    Leg Curl
    2 sets of 35 (couldn't get 50 ha!)

    Ab roller
    5 sets of 10

Good session, havent pulled off a deficit with this new deadlift stance I keep banging on about but it felt really good today, alot better than last time I DL'ed from the floor so thats a positive, was only prescribed for 3 doubles but felt really good so instead of adding weight I just did more sets. Said to the boys I train with, I think we get a bit caught up in total weight and start getting plate happy sometimes. Need to leave some in there to peak properly for the meets!

Haha, Well it was either one set of 50 reps OLY style OR take 70% of your squat max and see how many reps you can pump out OLY style. Im gonna try the 70% tactic (this is after main squats, and lunges!)

thanks brian! they certainly are, I quite like them though, seem to be really effective! plus I can kick my training partners ass on them despite him pulling the same as me at a much lesser bodyweight!

    Squat day - reps

    Squat
    bar x 20
    135 x 6
    225 x 6
    315 x 6
    365 x 6
    belt on
    425 x 6

OLY style squats (70% of max A.M.A.P)
    365 x 15

    Wide stance SSB GM's
    145 x 8
    195 x 8
    235 x 8

    Lunges
    3 sets of 12 @ 45lb DB's

    Shrugs
    5 sets of 20

    Russian barbell twist
    4 sets of 15

I was actually quite dis heartened at how well the OLY style set went. I had the bar just above mid trap, and went down fast and deep at shoulder width obviously in heeled lifting shoes. The first 11 were an absolute joke, but breathing was fast becoming an issue. I only really fatigued on the last rep. Its left me in quite a strange place as I'm now wondering have I been wasting my time with the low bar wide stance squatting the way I just busted out these reps, I know one thing for sure, it feels a hell of a lot better getting down there fast and getting out fast. I can see why ben seath has such a big squat now with his build and all that re bound from being a big thick lifter with such a close stance. Food for thought.

    Assistance day

    Clean and press (every rep)
    bar x 20
    95 x 5
    135 x 5
    135 x 5
    155 x 5
    175 x 5
    135 x 8 *strict press
    135 x 8

    Chins
    5 sets of 3
    2 sets of 2

    Trap Bar Farmers walk
    225 x 20 metres
    315 x 20 metres
    365 x 20 metres x 2

    Shrugs
    2 sets of 25

    Reverse pec dec
    4 sets of 25

    curls/calf raises/plate pinches
    3 sets of 20 + timed holds

I dropped the 365 on the way back on both runs. I quickly learned that picking it up was the main thing you had to get right as when I did the first leg of the second set I literally sprinted with it, but dropped it on the way back. They are pretty cool though, hopefully they will build up my yoke, and grip, and the added bonus of a bit of conditioning. The clean and presses were hard, I would love to build it upto 225 for 5 but I think I will have more trouble with the clean than the actual press.
