    Pressing

    Strict OHP
    bar x 20 x few
    95 x 10
    135 x 10
    135 x 10
    135 x 10
    135 x 10

Close grip incline (thumbs from smooth)
    225 x 5
    225 x 5
    225 x 5
    225 x 5
    225 x 5

    Skullcrushers
    4 sets of 10

    Pushdowns
    5 sets of 20

    curls superset with DB shrugs
    3x15 / 3x25

Band pull aparts superset with Upwright rows
    3 x 20/ 3 x 12

presses are a starting point, they were all very easy, I will drop the reps and increase the weight over coming weeks. Nothing earth shattering, obviously the log press is my main priority now.

Nice vid bro! Looks awesome. The log is massive, how big is your 'big log' in comparison to that one?

Training is looking solid an seems you are really enjoying it all man, great stuff

thanks H, I am enjoying it, its a nice change of direction, something different to train for other than just 1rm for a period of time. seems to have been the mental re set i needed.

Its not as big as that vid there with mike jenkins, its just the comp standard log, but there are two in the gym I go to train events. Theres a small one starts at 50kg and the comp standard one is 70kg with no weight on, so I just classify them as girls log/small log and big log! One day I'll be slapping plates on it! thats the game!

    Deadlift/back attack

    Deadlifts
    135 x 5 x 2
    225 x 5
    315 x 3
    405 x 2
    495 x 1
    ----
    315 x 1 x 7 (30 seconds rest)
    315 x 1 + 25 chain
    315 x 1 + 25 chain (add plate to stand on)
    315 x 1 + 25 chain (add 2 plate deficit)
    315 x 1 + 25 chain (add 3 plate deficit)
    315 x 1 + 25 chain (add 4 plate deficit)

    Snatch grip deadlift
    315 x 10 x 3

    Barbell rows
    225 x 8 x 3

    Shrugs
    2x50

    Low cable neutral row
    4x20

    Lat pulldowns
    4x15

    Seated rear delt raises
    4x20

my original plan was speed deads as I pulled heavy last week, as I alternate between the two, however training partner was going heavy so I worked up to 495 with him but I knew I wouldn't be able to go heavier and or for reps so i dropped down. Can tell when you haven't got that initial snap from the floor or bar speed I need for a good deadlift session. Hopefully it will return for next Thursday so I can shoot for a new 3rm. I like throwing things into speed deads to make them just a bit harder. The last set as actually pretty stupid, it was like pulling off a mountain.

I came back in here and everyone's talking about their logs. My log is small and helpless. It's also rarely used. Even I don't handle it much. LOL.

Shitload of volume on your dead/back day dude!

last run took 12.8 seconds, only one I timed just to see

    x30 secs

    2x3 @ 225+ mini band

that was it today I think. Pleased with the way things are going, making a real onslaught on the comp weights now on the logs, still with 10 weeks to go. Still need to get stronger though before I start focusing on just the reps portion so will continue to build strength. Yoke felt okay, but its rough on the knee's. Next week I will go heavier and that will be PB territory already. Pretty refreshing stuff all these noob gains haha.

Thanks everyone, I am really enjoying the change of pace. Its great just to lift weights and try something of a weekend, have plenty of fun and get stronger in the process. I think some of the things I've been doing will have a definite carryover to just standard lifting when I return/bounce between the two (PL/strongman)

    Squat night

    SQUAT
    bar x 20 x few
    135 x 10
    225 x 8
    315 x 5
    365 x 8
    add belt and wraps
425 x 2 .. hit the safety pins and had a little hissy fit
    425 x 10

    Close stance pause squats
    225 x 5
    225 x 5
    225 x 5

    Back raises
    2 sets of 20

    Hanging leg raises
    2 sets of 15

Keg clean upto shoulders (like a stone)

    135 keg
    75 second time limit:
    x8
    x12
    x13

gonna drop my training volume a tad this week, help with recovery and with a heavy deadlift session thursday and trying to push events saturday followed by my first real heavy squat day in a while (hopefully doubles) monday, end of the week/start of next could be brutal.
