lot of pressing on just my gym pressing day so I sacked off the tri work and did some bicep insurance and upper back work to keep everything in balance. Tempted to play around with some axle clean and presses the weekend after my log work. Deadlift thursday, hoping to work upto 500lbs for reps. Hoping being the key word here.

Very strong squat session Jay. 10 reps is pretty damn good.
Your OHP is strong as hell too. Have you ever maxed on it? You should be good for at least 225.

thanks fella's, a life without laughter is not worth living!

Brian- thanks, i did 405x10 week before so will eventually go 440 one week and then try 465 the next etc like that and keep building it up.

as for the OPH I have maxed once like two years ago and got a very horrible push pressed 225, I wont be testing for a while because im still trying to build my log press up (all overheads really as opposed to bench) now so its just going to be reps and reps and more reps.

    Deadlift

    Deadlift
    135 x 5 x lots
    225 x 5 x lots
    315 x 3
    405 x 1
    485 x 1
    500 x 5 (2 rep PR)
    525 x 1
405 x 10 (shoes on so slight spongy deficit)

    High Bar Close stance squats
    135 x 10
    225 x 10
    265 x 10

    Russian twists
    3 sets of 20

Nice rep PR, wish I hadnt put so much into it mentally aswel as physically as I didnt want to do much else after, was sort of in job done mode soon as the bar hit the floor. Pleased though, not much pysche, no salts, empty gym and the comp weight is 485 for reps so its a good enough indicator for now with plenty of time to go.

Personally I think you're a giant puss for going 155x10 then 3 sets of 8. Why not ALL sets of 10?

Then you go and do it AGAIN with Dumbbells. You go from 45's and 65's for 10 to 75's with 8.

How's that? That make you feel more human? LOL. Lot's of volume JLS. Weight is relative but that volume isn't. Tons of movements. Nice job.

Haha I feel quite humbled a man of your strength levels is almost mocking me in a comedic sense of weights being used in here.

I'm not going to lie, I fatigue pretty quickly on anything shoulders wise, and I should of rested longer, hence the dip in form. If it makes your reading experience any easier though Big B, (brain c can be little b now) I will go for all 10's from now on! thanks man

thanks bruiser, they sound cool because they are russian. I dont know where they adopted the name but they are pretty simple to do. I like the stretch more than anything, evens my back out after heavy deads.

thanks gaz, no its the 4th event in this strongman comp im doing. Dont want to train it as an event though as deadlifts are horrible enough without having to do them on a saturday along with a heavy ass yoke and farmers walks etc. They say train as you compete though I guess.

    265 for distance
    265 for distance
were all around 10-15m was just trying to move fast without my face exloding

    Incline Tate press
    3 sets of 15

    Bicep insurance
    3 sets of 20

    Pushdowns

    3 sets of 20

today was good, I enjoyed it thoroughly and I am pleased to say that 575 is the comp weight and I still have ten weeks to go, so hopefully I can shave alot off now as I continue to work up. All this moving is very harsh on the knee's though, so im expecting my squat progress to maybe slow a bit soon as this continue's to rise. You never the exposure to overload may make my yoke a bit stronger though. Little sacrifices!

thanks gaz, you get used to it very quickly, the first run with a heavier weight always throws you around a bit but second and third time its likee the body accepts it and nuts up. Finding it more harsh on the knees than anywhere.
