The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

is the Swiss bar crucial for your bench training?

    http://www.flexcart.com/members/elit...d=212&pid=2468

I been considering the idea of purchasing the Swiss bar and bring it with me to the gym at least 2 days per month. It seems this bar places greater emphasis on tricep training according to Dave's answer to the question in mind. However my tricep power isn't limited since I have DB/BB/body weight movements I do on a regular basis. Neither do I have any serious shoulder issues. Would it be ideal to still buy a Swiss bar to see what I can gain from it? It's quite a big investment @ $300. I want to hear first hand experience with this bar and see if its truly worth the investment.

What other equipment are you thinking about getting if you dont get the swiss bar?

Do you have a SSB? Various bands?

Neutral grip db press work well also. For me actually better. I like the swiss bar, but to invest and drag it to the gym, id rather invest in other equipment.

It's a nice bar to have, but I would spend my money elsewhere first.

I use the football bar (what the swiss bar was designed after) probably 3 times a year. Definitely not crucial

Nick, no SSB. I have my own bands from mini's up to strong bands & chains which I store at the gym in a safe place.

looks like I'll keep my $300 and save it for something else. thanks guys

I was really weak with it, so I figured it was a weakness and used it quite a bit. It didn't help my bench at all. I just got better with the swiss bar. I think it's been used more for pull ups by putting on the top of a power rack.
