The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I mean, I wouldn't want to hug shit out if I got a few cheap shots on me. Was it dirty? Debatable. There is nothing in combatives that says you have to hug, or high five at the start of any round. Some people are all about business, and Mayweather did what he had to do.

Anyone catch the post fight interview with Larry Merchant? Lol.

This was a terrible way for a fight to end from a fan's point of view but Victor only has himself to blame.

And the 2 headbutts by Manny? No mention of those? That was shitty. What Floyd did was straight up business, all the shit talking catching up to people. Try to hug someone at the start of a round, wtf was he thinking. Touching gloves...ok....but a fucking hug? Queer.

Definitely don't think Ortiz is a saint in this fight by any means, his headbutting was cheap. Still doesn't make the knockout any less cheap though. Follows the rules? Sure but that is just one more reason why the sport of boxing is dying, just a douchy move imo.

Mayweather offering a rematch tells a lot. It was a cheap shot but sure enough, he still won. And what was the referee doing/talking to when this went down?

It wasnt at the start of the round, the ref stopped the fight to deduct a point from ortiz for a headbutt. When Ortiz went to apologise mayweather took a cheap shot, the ref wasnt looking nor said fight on.

Mayweather certainly doesnt care bout winning over fans. The longer he puts off fighting manny the more of a joke he looks.

The ref clearly said "ok let's go" and motioned for them to fight before Ortiz walked over. There are a few vids of this online (the best one I saw got removed from youTube). But it's pretty clear, it was game on.

if thats the case why is the ref talking to someone outside the ring and not looking at what the boxers are doing, pretty poor referring.

I haven't watched it but a lot of people I've talked to says it looked very fake. My boss said that Ortiz looked to happy after the fight for someone who just got sucker punched and lost a championship.

Yeah, his reaction in the post fight interview was very odd too. While I don't think it was fake, it wouldn't really shock me to say the least.

    Exactly.

I'm going to be honest, if that was me and someone had just headbutted me like that, I'd have done the same thing. Ref said go and he didn't wait any longer. Ortiz got what he deserved for headbutting him like that. Maybe next time he'll think twice before he tries some gutter tactic like that again.

The fight was definitely back on. It was still poor refereeing though. Why was he looking away? Why was Mayweather not sent to a neutral corner?

I call fix. It might have been game on, but then why was the ref not looking? Boxing has gotten so bad... I would rather watch MMA any day.

Very plausible. However, there are refereeing issues in all of combatives. There are times when I watch an MMA fight (ESPECIALLY UFC) where I think a fight should continue instead of getting a TKO called/ref stoppage. There is a lot of controversy with refs...period.

Stopping fights slightly early is one thing. What this ref did was on another level. dana white has a great video explaining it.

I think it is a very dirty way to fight. It IS sports after all, and some level has to be maintained because of it.

If you are talking about Ortiz's headbutts, I agree.
