    Where now?

    I love powerlifting. It's what I did with my buddy until he went away to college. I even competed which was the biggest inspiration I've ever had. But my thing is, I'm confused on what to do, a program or what. I looked into the 5-3-1, but I doubt it for some reason. If someone could recommend a split, a program etc or just advice on training, accessory lifts, it'd be great.

    If you are that lost, why not find a local team to join up with? Most areas have at least one decent team within an hour drive or so....

    stop being lazy and do some research. 5/3/1 is a solid program and its shown proven results. Westside barbell is another solid program which I prefer. check out and download their free "Vault" book. It has many pages via PDF file of very useful information with details.

    You can change 531, Block Periodization, Westside or any program to match your personal agenda. Some even combine Westside and 531. I've combined all three than modified the result to suit my needs and tweek it now and than when necessary. Experience is the best teacher.

    All of our non-masters lifters at Monster Barbell have make great progress on 5-3-1! Even our masters guys use it with some age, injury, and reduced recovery consideration alterations. It is an awesome program if you give it a chance.
