    Quick update:

    Squat
1st- 635lbs. Missed on error. I stepped back as the head judge said rack by accident.
2nd- 650lbs. Good 3 whites. Judging was strict so made sure it was deep. I made a small jump just to make sure I got something in.
3rd- 680lbs. Missed. Bar rolled off my back as I got near the bottom. Weight felt fine, nothing I could do about this. I jumped to 680 instead of 700 due to my shoulder hurting a lot. This definitely did not make it feel better.

I had the same issue of the bar rolling and losing balance on my last warmup when I stood up with it two times. I never even got my last warmup in and hoped for the beat. I did not lower my opener because if I could not squat 635, I would have rather bombed. I had the same view with 650. Still a meet pr of 35lbs., although with knee wraps. Judging was stricter though.

    Bench
1st- 410lbs. Good 3 whites. This was fast and easy, complete joke.
2nd- 425lbs. Good 3 whites. Same as the first. Felt just as fast and easy.
3rd- 440lbs. Miss. Close, but stalled about halfway, which is my usual sticking point. Felt a little out of groove, but e press started fine. I just missed it. Thought it would be easy after how easy the 425 was.

10lbs. meet pr on the bench, but I definitely have a lot more. I should be able to get 440 at least.

    Deadlift
    1st- 520lbs. Good 3 whites. Easy opener.
2nd- 575lbs. Good 3 whites. Not easy and felt like I strained something in e back of my right shoulder locking it out. Seriously thought about stopping here, but I put in an attempt and decided to wait and see.
3rd- 605lbs. Miss. About 2 inches from lockout it stalled. Faster off the floor than the 575, and thought I had it for sure. About as close as you can get and not finish. Damn it.

No pr on deadlift. I'm sure I could have had a small pr, but 605 was what o wanted and that was the closest I ever came with a 600+ attempt.

Total- 1650lbs. at 263lbs. for a 40lbs. pr total. Not what I wanted, but I have a lot more when I have a good meet rather than a 5 for 9 day with one easy second attempts.

Thanks to my training partners and friends Jon, Kevin, and W.C. for coming to help. And thanks to Chris Mason helping with travel expense (even thought it was supposed to be for a meet months ago lol). I wore my at large shirt, but had to take it off after squatting as it was soaked with sweat, and no way I could bench without changing shirts without sliding all over the bench.

Final thoughts on the meet are:

I was surprised at how strict the judging was and mostly consistent.
There were a lot of 700+ raw deadlifters for a small turnout today. I think at least 7 or 8 out of about 20 full power.
The warmup monolift was the shittiest piece of equipment I ever used.
The squat bar on the platform was horrible for a lot of people. Many people had the same issues as me with the bar rolling or losing balance. This could also have been due to the 95 degree heat and no air-conditioning in the building. I'm sure the soaked shirt and singlet did not help anyways, eve with chalk on it. Really wish there had been air-conditioning.
Other than that it was very safe and well run. Even with straps on the monolift the spotters caught everything and no drops on bench either.

I will post videos when they are up. I think at least my benches and deadlifts are on video. W.C.'s phone died to video my squats, so if anyone has video that was there please post of the 650. Also I will not be able to post as often for awhile, as I do not have Internet again, so can only use it at mcdonalds like I am now or other wifi place. Please contact me on email or facebook if you need to, as I can check those on my phone.

Also, I am going to do a bench only in 2 weeks most likely. It is not often my bench feels strong and no shoulder issues benching, so now is the time. Then I won't be competing again for awhile.

    Thanks Brian.

Took this past week off. Going to do some assistance this next week and a heavy bench. Then I'm going to bench at the power station pro-am the weekend after. I'm just going to token the other lifts. I might deadlift if I happen to feel like it after benching. I really just want to do a bigger bench more than anything else though. I will open at 430 and go up from there.

I think my spotter touched it a little too soon, but it would have been close on finishing the 375 either way. It was about 2 inches from lockout when he touched it. This was not my usual training partner. Either way, not too bad after 5 hours of manual labor today and driving a couple hours in the heat. I didn't expect it to feel as good as usual. Now just waiting until next weekend.

    08/26/2012 Ohio Pro-Am Meet

Did token squat. I think it was 155 or 165. Something like that. It was full power only so I had to do this.

    Bench Press
1st- 430lbs. finished lift but 3reds on downward motion during press. It felt like I was out of groove and adjusted it a bit while pressing, but didn't feel like it moved down ever. I guess it could have.
2nd- 430lbs. 3 whites, pr and pretty easy.
3rd- 435lbs. Passed. I actually unracked it but put it back right away. Shoulder was hurting too much. I didn't think it was worth 5 lbs. more to risk injuring it again when I already got a pr. If I didn't have to repeat the first, I think it would have felt ok long enough to do 435 or 440 on the second.

I really only wanted to bench heavy today, but decided to take another shot at a 600lbs. deadlift just for the hell of it.

    Deadlift
1st- 500lbs.- 3 whites, obviously easy but had to make sure my bench would count.
    2nd- 600lbs.- missed
3rd- 600lbs. - missed. Neither was very close. Still hate deadlift.

I wanted to bench 440lbs. today, but I still got a pr so can't complain about that. Will just have to try for 450lbs. the next time. Need to let my shoulder heal up for a few weeks now. It's just been awhile going heavy. It had felt much better a few weeks ago. But it will be alright again in a few weeks. I'm also going to be trying a bench shirt again and if I don't get too frustrated with it then I might do a meet with it the end of this year or early next year.

Thanks Brian. It is nothing unusual. Just the usual shoulder paini get after benching heavy for too long of time in a row. It felt completely fine a few weeks ago at the other meet. But when it acts up, I can only do a few heavy sets before it hurts too bad and I'm afraid to reinjure it when it is like that, besides that side will start to feel weak.

    09/01/2012 Squat

    Squat
    Barxsome
Add Green bands and loose briefs
    Barx3
    145x3
    235x3
    325x3
    425x2x2sets belt
    445x1 still high
    Add Box 2" above parallel
    235x3x3sets briefs, no belt

    Weighted Situps (weight behind head)
    BW+25x10
    BW+35x10x2sets

Briefs were frustrating today first time trying them again. All the free squats were a few inches high. The box felt easier to get to each set with light weight and I think I was sitting back better. I think I need to use a box the next few times I squat with briefs and go progressively lower each time before switching over to free squats so I get my form and depth better.

Shoulder still hurting quite abit with 315 and 365, even with the carpet pad. It felt ok warming up with the lighter weight. Just did some lockout and form work with the shirt off higher boards. It felt better with the shirt on.

    120x10x3sets real slow

I thought I would like this spider bar more than I did. It is a mix of a cambered bar and safety squat bar. I really like the handles in front. My shoulder feels way better with that than any other bar. But I lean way forward even more than my normal and round my back quite abit with it (a lot like the safety squat bar is for me and cambered bar too somewhat). I thought that 435x3 and 475x1 all the way down and on a hard bar like this was pretty good without a belt for me though. I was happy with that.
