    Yep, a few months ago he posted on his log that he was looking to sponsor a couple raw and geared lifters for a 15 week training cycle leading up to a meet. So I figured why not, I've already been coached by some amazing guys already (John Manly and Tone Barbaccio) why not add Brian Carroll to the list. So I sent him a text and he said I could have the raw spot. He already sent me my first 5 weeks and I start that next week.

    Done...I really didn't feel like training, so I just went out there and just got some work done. I kept moving at a fast pace and finished right at 60 minutes. The one thing I hate about training squat and deadlift on the same day is the lack of motivation to train later in the week. Hopefully that'll change once I start my meet prep next week.

    Make it easy on yourself. Bulk up to around 260, hit 500 lbs and get that monkey off your back. Then cut back down and hit it again at 242. Then cut again to 220 and be happy to bench 315. ;-)

    If you can hit 700 lbs raw, I'm pretty sure you can hit 1050 in gear. The strength will be there. Just need to learn and adapt to the gear.

    I was out of gear for 7yrs and my first time back in a brand new pair of BOSS briefs, I hit an 800lb squat. I don't think adapting to the gear will be a big problem, maybe just the heavy weight. But we'll see what happens after RUM. A geared meet sounds good!

    Awesome!! I'd love to see what you could hit geared!! What do you think your weekly training would look like once you get back into the gear?

    I would probably go back to squatting and deadlifting on separate days. I wouldn't go back to WSB like I did before because it didn't do shit for my deadlift. I would work in 4 week waves and still focus on raw stuff at first. So the first two weeks of the wave would be raw, I would add gear on week 3 and then deload week 4. This is the template I've been thinking of doing for a while now, so if I do train for a geared meet, this would be it. As I get closer to the meet, I would probably use the gear more often.
