The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

What an awesome squat session, Bri! And I don't think many people would be able to deadlift after that, haha!

I just found this log and saw you're from Lakeland... I was born and raised in Lake Wales, and I played baseball at FL Southern... I live in Sebring now, about 45 minutes from Lakeland... Where do you train?

    6 weeks out

    Monday
    08.13.12
    Deadlift@75%

    Deadlifts
    135/2x10
    225/2x5
    315x3
    405x3
    Added belt
    495x3
    545/4x3
    545x6

    Pullups
    BWx6
    BW+10/3x6

    Decline sit-ups
    BWx15
    BW+10x12
    BW+15/2x12

Done...The last cycle I did, I was pulling heavy off the floor every other week. The weeks I wasn't pulling, I was either doing a block pull or GM. I'm doing the same this cycle, but instead of doing a block pull or GM in between, I decided to just pull light....we'll see how it goes.

I really didn't feel like pulling 3 sets for 6 reps, so I went with triples and I tried to pull each one fast. The last set I decided to bust out 6 after I did my first 3 reps. I probably had another rep or two in me, but I got out of position on the 6th rep and just decided to stop.

My rest period between sets were about 2 minutes, and on my last two sets I bumped it up to 3 minutes.

Oh yeah, they are powerlifting and strongman friendly. I enjoy training at home, this is something I've been wanting to do for a long time. I usually have one or two other people that train with me, but there are times when I do train alone.

Ya I have always wanted to do that too... Best decision I ever made... Plus the big thing for me is, no where around here has GHR or Rev. Hyper... So I said screw it, and did it on my own... It is worth every penny, and I am looking forward to adding to it...

Debs Gym has both, plus a mono and a mastadon bar. I want to buy a GHR for my garage, that might be my next purchase.

Ya I use it, and it's fine... I've never used one before, so I can't compare... I think mine would hold 3-4 45s on each side... And I'm sure they could make it hold more... The guy custom makes everything so just yell him what you want... Real nice guy, easy to work with...

Done...A pretty good day today even though the weights were light. I ditched my squat shoes for benching and put my Nikes back on and my setup felt stronger. I did bench with a little pec pain, but not as bad as last week. On my last set of 330, my form got pretty sloppy after 7 reps so I stopped at 9. I think 10 would of went if I tried, but I didn't want to chance it.
