    Taking 325 x 10 for a deload isn't much of a deload. LOL

Your logic is warped. 285 x 10 makes you ill, so 325 x 10 will make it better? LMAO! And it worked too.

    Thursday
    11.29.12
    SQ-WK4

    13 weeks out from RUM6

    Squat
    Barx30
    145/2x10
    235x10
    Working sets
    305x10
    425x8
    455x6-Added belt
    485x4
    515x4-Added sleeves
    545x5-WTF!!!

Done...Not a good day. During my last set on the 3rd rep, I felt a sharp pain in my left quad. Like an idiot, I did 2 more even though I know 6 would of went. I didn't feel anything pop or tear, so I guess that's a good thing. I already took some ibuprofen and I have some ice on it right now. I'm hoping this doesn't set me back at all.

On a positive note, I did get my new SSB in yesterday!!!

Doesn't sound like its going to hurt your training. If possible, get ART or deep tissue massage done on it.

I hope not. It's feeling alittle better now. I'll keep doing the ice and taking ibuprofen. If its still bothering me, then next week I'll see about getting some work done on it.

How high do you setup the Z-press? I know you sit on the ground. I tried it with the bar about mouth height. I had no stability to press with power. It was horrible.

Last time I did them, the bar was at nose level. Once you get up in weight, it's pretty hard to keep from falling back.

Thanks! I don't think it's that serious, only because I woke up today with no pain at all. I can squat my bodyweight and everything feels normal. The plan is still to squat next week, but I'll make sure to stop if I feel anything out of the ordinary.

Are you making sure your core is tight before you press? I think making sure your core is tight and your belly full of air is the key. This will allow you to stay more upright and not fall backwards.

    Incline JM presses

    150x10
    200/3x10
    Barbell curls
    75x10
    95/3x10

Done...Pretty good day today. My shoulder didn't bother me, so that's a good sign. I'm also stopping at nose/chin level, so that makes it feel alot better. I used my new SSB for some calf work and it worked out pretty good. I can't wait to take it for a ride, lol.

On a positive note, my quad feels much better. I don't feel any pain at all and it pretty much feels normal. So i'll stick to the plan and i'll squat next week. But i'll make sure I listen to my body and if anything doesn't feel right then i'll stop.

Tomorrow, i'm going to watch a strongman competition here in town that my friend Scott Weech and Scott Lamb are hosting. It should be a lot of fun, so i'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, I get tight. My tendency is to get the bar out in front and lean back, because I have more pressing strength there. Without a bench behind me, there's no balance or stability. This could be a great way to focus on my shoulders without cheating.

Try doing the opposite. When you press overhead , you want to throw your head fowards. You'll be surprised how easy you'll lock weight out.

Looking strong all round Hopp. Glad the quad didnt give you too much bother. That was some quality floor pressing conisdering it was a deload too lol.
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy - George Bernard Shaw
