BW/4x5-Trying to get a feel for my shoulder
Bicep curls w/EZ curl bar
Done...Not a bad day, I kept my rest period at one minute between all sets and at least 2-3 minutes between exercises.
It looks like i'll be ditching the incline presses because they were bothering my shoulder. Well, i'll at least stay at 135 and do high reps. So i'll be sticking with close grips on this day and throw in the incline presses every few weeks.
The pullups didn't feel that bad. I kept the reps low because I haven't done them in awhile and didn't want to push it. So i'll keep trying them and see how it goes. I'm also going to leave a rep or two in the tank.
I was also concerned with the dips, but they didn't bother my shoulder at all. So i'll be throwing these back in and see how it goes.
Good workout, glad shoulder's bearing up.
I had to look up Klokov presses. Never heard of them before. Now I have something new to try!
Super in the vid Brian, making it all look easy!!
Gotta make the smart decisions and keep pushing along.
Thanks alot guys, I appreciate it!!!
Brian you are ever impressive in your training. Very nice Dead PR! Good to see the pull ups went ok too
Ok, so right now I'm 8 weeks out from RUM6 and I'm planning on trying something totally different for this meet cycle. This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile, and decided to just do it, lol. It's the same routine I was using for my squat these last 7 weeks, but this time I'm going to use it for my bench and deadlift as well. It starts off with alot of reps and volume, so I'll be worn out that's for sure.
I know I just made the switch, but I'm going back to squatting and pulling on different days. I'm doing this because of the extra work I'm going to be putting in. So we'll see what happens.
This meet will be interesting and a huge learning experience. It can go either way, lol.
Hope the training switcharoo works out for you!
8 weeks out from RUM6
Rack pulls w/snatch grip
315x8-Damn strap broke
80/4x10-2 second hold at the top of each rep
My last session of 2012 and it was also my first week to prepare for my meet. It was a killer for sure and it left my lower body feeling like J-E-L-L-O!!!! I haven't ran this program for my deadlift in about 10-11 years, so it'll be interesting to see how it works out. I'm doing something a little different with it, which i'm hoping won't screw me up.
The program runs for 7 weeks straight with no deload. So what i'm doing is, i'm going to go 6 weeks straight, then week 7 i'll do my openers and on week 8 will be my meet. It works out ok, because I was planning on taking my openers on my last week of training anyways.
Like I said before, this will either make me or break me. But i'm willing to give it a try and see what happens.
Huge volume in that session, Bri!
Tons of work. Curious to see how it all plays out.
Interested to see how this goes man! Lots of deadlifting in that session, some crazy volume. Goodluck B, kill it
HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
8 weeks out from RUM6
65% w/30 seconds rest between sets
Flat DB presses
Pushdowns w/Spud Inc. towel strap
A good session to start the year off right . I wasn't expecting 315x10 to be as hard as it was. The last two sets are always the hardest for me, but hopefully i'll get my muscle endurance back and the reps won't be as hard.
After the dead presses, I tried to keep my rest periods at a minute, maybe a little over. So each set got harder and harder, lol.
This is also the first time I have tired Bradford presses and so far I like them. I kept the weight light and i'm glad I did because my shoulders are weak and they were shot from all the other presses I did.
Lifting like an old school bodybuilder. I like it!
Happy new year, Brian! 315x10 is impressive stuff.
Ace sessions back-to-back man.
Good place to be at 8 weeks out.
8 weeks out from RUM6
Dead squats w/SSB
50% of 1RM w/30 second rests between sets
I am so glad that week 1 is over with. Week 2 is just as hard, but i'll worry about it next week. It was pretty tough to squat today since I pulled Monday. But I don't have any other day to train this week, so I had to do it today.
It looks like every other week, i'll be training M-T-W. So on my bench days, i'll be doing extra work. Next week, i'll be able to train my normal split and possibly go to my old gym and train with the boys.
That is a metric shit-ton of work Brian! Nicely done!
