We'll see, I never really think about recording my lifts. But i'll try and remember. I was thinking about recording some of the lifts during the week and just making one video for each week.

I'm sure it was the 2 count pause... we all know how hard it is for a meat-head to count in the best of circumstances. Doing so while benching 315 was simply too much for you. In all seriousness, you got your work done. That is the important stuff. Accessory stuff is nothing to worry about. You always put in a metric-ton of work. This isn't going to bother you at all.

Your probably right, lol. I wasn't to worried about missing some accessory work. The way I was feeling was a sign to slow down and rest. I'm just happy I got my main work done.

I had alot going on today. I only had about 3 hours of sleep when I got home from work. But I was able to get a nap for about 2 hours. Lately, I have been hating to go in the gym and squatting. I've been having some issues with my right hip, so I did some PVC rolling and it started to feel better. I don't feel comfortable squatting like I use to. I'm not sure whats going on, but I need to get it figured out.

Hope you work out what it is, Bri. I'm the same with Deads atm - just can't feel 'right' when pulling.

That was my problem. Right hip pain in the hole on raw work felt like a knife stabbing me. Lacrosse ball and stretching over the last 3 weeks has really improved it. I felt pretty good today warming up. If its in the crease of your hip, give the lacrosse ball a try.

Thanks, I do need to start rolling it out. During the squat session I did some PVC rolling and it started to come around. I was watching a video from Elliot Hulse on what sounds to be this same problem and i'm going to start doing some of the things he mentioned.

Done...No drive today. I wasn't planning on training today, but I had the chance to get a session in so I jumped on it....big mistake. I should of kept my ass inside. Next time, i'll either do nothing but high reps or just don't train at all. But, I stuck it out and got it done. I got about 3 more weeks left of heavy training and then my openers.

Good work as always man, hope you get that hip feeling better. I'm having some similar issues on my right side, hip/glute deal, rolling and stretching are helping it though.

    5 weeks out from RUM6

    Deadlifts
    135/2x10
    225x8
    Working sets
    355x10
    495x8
    530x6-Added belt
    565x4
    600x4
    635x4

    Paused deadlifts w/snatch grip
Each rep was paused at my knee for a 3ct and then locked out.
    315/3x3

    Neutral grip pull-ups
    BW/4x5

    Barbell rows
    185/3x8

    One arm DB shrugs
    60/3x12

    ****************************************
Today was by far the hardest day, lol. The 4th rep with 635 was my toughest pull ever. Let's put it this way, I pulled 725 easier then I did that 4th rep. I got the paused deadlifts from Marcus Wild who got it from Mike Tuchscherer. I'll keep doing these up to the meet and probably continue doing them after. 2 more weeks of heavy training and then openers! For this cycle I'm taking my openers two weeks out instead of 3 weeks. So pretty much, my last week of training is just openers. This meet is approaching fast, so hopefully I'll be ready.

Wow... pulling 635 lbs for reps sounds tortuous! If that doesn't get you ready for grinding out a pull, nothing ever will! Fantastic lifting Brian! Cannot wait to see how you do at RUM6.

I'm a little bummed out by missing my last rep. My only excuse I have is, I went 5lbs heavier on my last two sets. I'm not exactly sure why I missed, all the other sets felt strong. Hopefully the next two weeks will go much better then this one!

Mike pulls over 800, so he must know something about deadlifting. I plan to alternate them every other week with speed deadlifts. 635 x 4 is impressive!

You need some good sleep Hopper. You've been a little off the entire week. Find a day where you can get 8 to 10 hours of sleep and a nap, you'll be hitting PRs!
