A pretty good day today. I started off a little nervous for some reason. But after my last set I was happy it was over. The program called for 670, but I did 675 instead. I probably had another rep and I wish I attempted it because it would of been a PR, but I have to squat Wednesday and I didn't want to push it. I have one more heavy training session and then my openers.

Good news-I was able to complete this weeks sets/reps

    Bad news-It resulted in a tweaked/strained pec....WTF!!!

I'm pretty upset about it, but what can I do. Whats done is done. It's not torn, so i'm good there. I'll just ice/heat and take some ibuprofen. I might even go see my PT and have him work on it. It's just finding the time to go.

Next week i'll see how it feels and go from there.

Hear about a lot of pec strains, tweaks, and tears right around the 400 to 400 + mark. Hope it gets better ASAP! Be aggressive with therapy, but don't risk a tear for the meet.

I've had so many pec issues in the past, from strains to partial tears, so I feel your pain, especially close to a meet like this. I would hold off on the ibuprofen IMO, is there much swelling? Lots of aggressive foam rolling and heat has always helped me recover fast from strains. If there's much swelling at all, I would leave it alone for a week or two. I've found trying to drying to massage/foam roll inflamed tissue just makes things worse.

Well, since it happened I haven't had any pain at all, no swelling or discoloring. So I'll take that as a good sign. It's alittle sore, but not painful at all. I'll definitely put heat on it and roll on it. Thanks for the input!

I know I've said it before, but today had to be my hardest day of this squat cycle. Everything felt heavy, and for some reason, I couldn't get a good grip on the bar. I could come up with a lot pf BS excuses, but I completed the workout and I pushed out an extra rep on my last set.

A quick and easy session. I got this all done in just under an hour. I haven't done OHP standing up since I hurt my shoulder, so I was a little nervous. My pec didn't bother me while doing the floor presses, so thats a good sign. Other then that, nothing much to say.

Nice light session, keep the blood flowing, good stuff. Also, 605# squat for reps in previous session is immense.

Thanks alot B!!! I don't think it's to serious, because I didn't feel anything today when I floor pressed or when I did dips. We'll see how it goes next week. I'm doing everything as scheduled but I'll stop as soon as something doesn't feel right.

Wow. what a day today, lol. I didn't think 705 was going to go, but I locked it out and held it there for a few seconds to make sure. Today was pretty hard for several reasons. But, I am so glad that I'm done deadlifting, lol. I won't pull again until the meet. Like I mentioned before, i'm trying alot of new things for this meet, so we'll see how it works out. I woke up today @ 249.4, so cutting shouldn't be an issue if I keep this up.
