12 weeks out from USPA Florida State Summer Classic

    Deadlift off a 2" deficit w/chains
    135x10
    135x5
    225x5
    Added 2" deficit
    225x3
    315x3
    405x3
    455x1
Added 110lbs of chain and belt
    455/2x3
    475/3x3
    475x5

    DB rows
    80x10
    110/2x10

    Barbell shrugs
    135x10
    225x10
    315x10
    405/2x10
    225x20

Done...Today was pretty fun. I think this was my first time pulling with chains. Since I'm squatting heavy on Thursday, I decided to keep my accessory work down, so I skipped the block pulls. All my working sets felt pretty good and strong. I was going to bump the bar weight up some more, but decided to stay with 475 and hit it for 5 easy reps. Next week I pull heavy from the floor with straight weight. Also, I think the next time I pull with chains, I'm going to take one chain off per side and add more bar weight. I'll do this until I end up with one chain per side.

I've never done deficit deadlifts. I have a hard enough time getting down to the bar as it is.

How much does form/technique change with the extra 2 inches of pulling?

What causes you to have a problem getting down to the bar?

It changes a little bit. For me, it does feel awkward trying to get your hips down a little further to pull. I feel like my legs lock out faster and it forces me to use more back. If you're weak off the floor, these will help you out.

    Speed bench vs double minis
    145+bands/8x2

    Dead presses
    135x2
    225x2
    275x2
    315/4x2

    Flat DB presses
    60x12
    80x12
    100x12

    Band Pressdowns w/mini band
    100 reps total

    Band flyes
    (MM=monster mini, M=mini)
    MMx10
    MM+M/3x10
    Dropset
    MM+Mx12
    MMx10
    Mx8

Done...Good day today with good speed. Trying something different with the reps by doing doubles instead of triples. It's hard for me to get use to because I'm so use to triples. I also decided to do doubles instead of singles with the dead presses. No reason really, just felt like it, lol. Thursday is a heavy squat day. My planned weight is 585 for 5 triples.
