    Done...I wanted to get some front squatting in, but my legs and back were still sore. You'll notice on the shrugs that I'm trying to build my grip strength, so i'm working up as heavy as I can without straps and then i'll throw them on for a heavy top set. Since my hamstrings were pretty sore, I wasn't able to do any GHR's, so I decided to do some extensions and leg curls for high reps.

    Not sure what's going on, but I've been having a pain in my neck and down the left side of my back now for 2 weeks. It's gotten a lot better, but last week it hurt to look side to side and up & down. It seems to be slowly going away, but then Tuesday, I did something to make my left shoulder hate me. It seems to only hurt when I move my arm up like I'm doing a side lateral.

    This isn't good, because I still have 11 more weeks to train for this meet and i'm already getting beat up. So, today I decided to skip my upper body accessory work and let my body get some type of recovery. Especially, since next week is a pretty heavy week, so i'll need it.

    I do static holds once in a while for grip work but I have thought about just doing shrugs instead, at least it would give me something to do instead of just standing there holding a bar lol.

    Get that looked at ASAP - massage, chiro, etc., Be aggressive with any tweak, pain, or injury. Fix it and continue on with work. Probably not that big of an issue. Just needs some work on it.

    I feel the same way, that's why I recently started doing most of my shrug work without straps. I'm going to throw them on for one heavy set, but for the most part, I'm going strapless.

    Done...Very happy with my squat today. It was a grinder, but it felt a lot better and stronger then my 610 set. I really need to work on my upper back. I'm still rounding over pretty bad, and it sucks, lol. This is by far the heaviest I've pulled sumo. I'll probably keep pulling sumo for a few more weeks. I will pull conventional on my deloads to work form. The plan was to do paused squats @ 65%, but I decided to do 60% instead. I'll post a video tomorrow night.

This is my last heavy off season session, then in two weeks I'll start my actual meet prep.

    Done...I thought for sure my shoulder was going to bother me, but the only exercise that I felt it hurt was on my last set of barbell curls. Surprisingly, the shoulder presses felt good, just not strong. It's been awhile since I did them. Plus, with my shoulder acting up, I didn't want to go any heavier.

    I finished up the day with static holds using the fat bar. I did 300 for 20 seconds on the first set and 25 seconds the second set. I'll continue to use this weight and improve my time.

    Thanks guys, neck is better. But my upper back is still bothering me a little. Now my left shoulder is hurting me, buts it's much better compared to last week. Hopefully things will heal up over the next 10 weeks, lol.

    These little tweaks, aches, and pains are telling you something. Get 'em handled now while they're still small issues. Massage, ART, ice, foam rolling, lacrosse balls, whatever it takes. Don't give them a chance to snowball. Stay healthy!

    I know man, I've been hitting my upper back with a lacrosse ball and let me tell you, it doesn't feel good at all. One thing I haven't tried is ice. I might have to reconsider my low bar squats and and move it up some.
