    Topical pain relievers

    Anyone buy into these?


    Icy Hot
    Tiger Balm
    Bengay

    etc...

    I don't go out of my way to purchase these (I have a box of free samples from when I used to work at Powerhouse). Was just curious if people actually subscribe to topical pain relief.

    i used biofreeze frequently but i dont even attempt to run these days so i generally dont use it anymore

    tiger balm got me through some workouts years ago with some bad elbow pain. that stuff is magic.

    That's what all my freebies are...Tiger Balm. I kinda like the smell over Icy Hot.

    Icy Hot never did much for me, nor did Biofreeze. "Atomic Balm" is the way to go if you can get it (imo).
    A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

    icy hot was amazing back when I played baseball...coaches hated it though because we would end up throwing through our injuries and make them worse (of course they wouldn't let us not throw either)

    I've thought about using tiger balm but didn't want to wast my money but I think I will grab some Now that I see people having results with it

    They all run their course. You'll find overtime that they all start to seem less effective. Tiger balm is pretty tame tbh. If you can find some equine grade liniment, that will light you up pretty good and probably cause more pain than the discomfort you are trying to ease, temporarily anyway. I use ralgex (heat) but a few of my training partners use Uddermint (for cows) regularly and swear by it.
