I 've heard people talking about organic foods(like yoghurt,milk,bread) and that they're very good.Where's the difference and why are they called "organic"?
Most organic food such as veggies dont use pesticides or herbicides.
Oh yeah because of this fact some stupid people see fit to make organic food more expensive, whih s bloody annoying

organic food is more expensive as it cost the farmers more to grow the products as the farmers have higher crop yeild losses due to more plants dying as attacked by thing that the pesticies etc kill. for organic meats this is worse as then the farmers have to rear the animals on organic feed which has the same problems as selling organic food to humans plus the animals are normally small as well.
thats why farmer use pesticides etc as its cheaper and more efficient.
besides price there is not much difference. excpet that organic foods are not uniform in shape and often lack colour so if you mixed eg organic tomaotes with non-organic tomaotes and let the consumer pick the nicest tomaoes they would all go for the non-organic(this is a blind test so they would not no there is a difference)
For some types of vegetables-especially those in which the skin or leaf is going to be consumed, I urge one purchase organic veggies where possible. The skins of the produce is where pesticide residues predominate. the price unfortunately is just to much in some circumstances. However, the strengths of pesticides are increasing because of the presence of resistant strains of insects. It is truely a mixed bag though (one cannot generalize and say all pesticides are bad) as some pesticides are actually less toxic than in the old days...
if you want less pesticides encourage experiments with genetic modification to them.
