    Torn skin on the hand

After my back day last week, the skin on one of my hands was a bit raw. Today after doing SLDLs on my leg day I ripped a chunk of skin off my hand. Do you guys think I could just use some generic white medical tape to keep the injury from bothering me and prevent it from getting any worse during my future workouts? Also, is there anything I can do to avoid this type of injury from now on? Maybe some type of lotion or something?

I use lifting straps and they don't seem to help much, they actually seem to be a bit rougher on the skin. I used to use gloves but I would go through a pair about every month so that got expensive...

not a ton you can do to prevent callouses from being torn off. Some things that help are using chalk and making sure your callouses dont get to thick. I tore a huge one off my hand about a month ago and i coulldn't pick up anything heavy for nearly 2 weeks because it was just going to re-open.

Damnit, I refuse to let this hold my workouts back. I'm going to try the tape method, I'll tell you how it goes...
