I think you did a great job at explaining your point.

I actually saved that post of yours, for future reference.

Marcos is an idiot, no matter what you say to him, he is going to believe the big guy with no knowledge in exercise physiology or anatomy (Arnold).

    BTW, I love this quote:

"What seperates the intelligent lifter from the gym dork in the corner doing bicep curls is the fact that the intelligent lifter understands what he's doing to his body. The gym dork reads musclemags and bodybuilding manifestos and takes his cues from there."

    Extremely well said

Gentlemen, thank you very much for your help.

It's frustrating to try to explain something to somebody who just won't listen. Funny how some people go to these forums full of bad info but come away a hell of a lot more knowledgeable (like a lot fo the folks here), while others end up listening to the Marcos' and end up right where they started.

People need to be saved from themselves.

    You guys-

I am trying to learn more of the physiology stuff, but from the "old man" stand point, a lot (NOT ALL) of what that guy Marcos posted makes perfect sense to me.

This is not an invitation to fight me! I KNOW you guys are very solid in your beliefs. I am not disputing those beliefs.

I have an analogy. When I went to college, the best instructors I ever had where the "Adjunct" instructors who taught night courses. These were people that actually worked in their trades or professions by day and taught others about those trades or professions at night.

We learned "the real deal" from people who were actually teaching what they did for a living.

The WORST instructors were the Professors who had never actually DONE anything. They just taught. No practical experience.

I sort of feel that way about lifting weights. Theories are great, but I wanna listen to the guy who got there. it is very hard for me to take the advice of someone who's physique is not better than mine.

No, Arnold may not be a quantum physicist, but he made it to "The Show." A BUNCH of times.

    That's the real deal.

Like I said, I am really trying to open my eyes to this new way of looking at weightlifting, but why does it seem like it has to be all one way or all the other? Certainly there's some middle ground.

It's easy to believe inclines will build your "upper" chest, but when you realize there is no "upper" chest, it's easy to believe they won't. You can't change the shape of a muscle - only the size.

Weight, read my post on mm.com and then see what you think about what Arnold has to say concerning things like that.
