So I was having lunch with my wife today, and we at Mexican. And I got to thinking about ethnic foods. I'm no food expert, but when someone says "Mexican" you can pretty much visualize what you're going to get. And that seems to be the same for many cultures. "Chinese" has been Americanized, of course, but still, if you say "Let's have Chinese" people know what you're talking about. I suppose American food to others would be barbecue or steak or hamburgers and such. My family origins are German, and I can rattle off a handful of German foods. Thai. Indian. Greek. French. Irish. Etc.
But no one ever says "Let's have Canadian tonight!" Why is this? Does their food suck? Perhaps they don't eat? I'm tellin' you, there's something just not right in this equation. I have this theory that they're all cyborgs who are planning on taking over the earth, and they don't need food! But my wife says I'm wrong.
