    WNPF National Tournament of Champions Meet Write-up

    I competed earlier today in the 17-19 singly ply 242 teen division

    The meet was held in Atlanta at the wyndham garden hotel. Me and my partner mad the 3 hour trip up to the hotel yesterday to weigh in. I didnt have to cut any weight but I could'nt eat in fear of going over. We weighed in at 4:45 I weighed 238. After we weighed in it took us 30 minutes to find a decent resturant to eat at. We finally found a Japanese steak house and ate there. By the time we got back to the hotel it was time for me to eat a late nite snack again. We went by Krystals and got some late night grub. Got back to hotel and passed out at about 11.

    I woke up at about 7 and got my gear ready took it down too where the meet was being held. Walked across the street and ate at waffle house for breakfeast. I thought I was about to get robbed when some random guy ran up to me asking for some change lol. Got back to hotel and we all meet up at 9:00 for the rules and all that good stuff.

    Squats went great today. My openers went 135x6, 225x4,315x2, suit bottoms 405x1 and 455x1
    Opener 500- Felt good and easy like it should. Smoke Show
    2nd 550- Didnt get my feet rite in my setup but i still got it below parallel and managed to get it up somehow.
    3rd 575- I've had this on my back maybe once before the meet. I got a perfect setup and it flew up!

    Bench was good but me and my partner were the heaviest benchers so we was being rushed. I usually wear 2-3 different shirts and it was hectic switching shirts and handing off in less than 2 minutes. My warm-ups went 135x6, 225x4, 275x1 3 board, 50 F6 365x1 2board
    Opener 400- Felt good was a lil rough on the lockout. But i got it.
    2nd 450- I switched shirts to my 48 F6 and everything just didnt go as planned on this attempt. It floated a lil and when i touched after I started pressing I faded back to early no lift. Great spotters tho!
    3rd 450 this was the last bench of the day. I jacked my shirt down some got setup just rite. It was a grinder but i didnt stop pushing Good Lift.

    Deadlifts were kinda slow paced. Skinny Man was back in the warm-up room talkin trash as always too me. Its always fun to listen to him talk. But I was drained after the bench just because how rushed it got for me. Deadlifts I did raw warm-ups 135x6, 225x4,315x2, 405x1, 455x1
    Opener 500- It felt good and easy except i forgot to tighten my belt somehow.
    2nd 525- Felt heavy but nothing i havent felt before.
    3rd 550- Felt easy coming off the floor. Got right above my knees and it just stalled.

    Overall it was a great meet went 7 for 9. PR'd on my total by 150Lb. Figured out my weaknesses. This meet just lit the fire again. On our way home me and my partner was talking about how we are going to train for the next meet. I found my weaknesses now its time to work on them.

    Thanks guys. I was wondering what would be some good exercises to work the top end of the deadlift?

    Rack pulls or block pulls and reverse band deadlifts. Also, if you have bands or chains, I would add those to the rack/block pulls.
