The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    powelifting questions.

I have been advised to enter a powerlifting competition but i dont know much about it.. I weigh 143lbs, i dont train for powerlifting so i dont really know but here is somewhat of what i do:

    Bench Press 210 X 8
    Squat 310 X 5
    Deadlift 225 X 5 (today I did 225)

They told me i will definetly win, but i have a few questions, its one-rep max right? Do i need to wear anything special besides a belt, for squats and deads. And How will the sets scheme look like, how much rest do i have between everything.. I really appreciate the help. And do i really have a chance of doing good?

well we dont know what your maxes are so we dont know how youd do. also depends on what kind of contest it would be.
Latman weighs only 5 lbs more than you and deadlifted 460.
    he didn`t win his comp....

    Also whats with yer deadlift?
your bench and squat are way higher than mine but my deadlift is way higher

You do 3 single lifts of the squat/bench/deadlift and keep the best of each for your total
You can wear special suits or not, it doesn't matter. Belts are usually worn by all
Usually you get 10-15minutes between your squat lifts and 25-35 minutes between when you squat and bench

yes , the bar must touch your chest, and come to a complete stop (pause) and then it is pressed.

How old are you and what division are you going into?

The bar has to come to a complete stop on your chest for a good "one-one-thousand." You then have to drive it up without the bar coming downwards again; not even for 1 cm. You have to drive it up relatively evenly and when you lock out, you have to hold it at lock out position until the judge says rack.

As for your squat, your hip joint has to break parallel.
