The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I'm with you, when I back off on the grippers I go backwards on the heavy grippers.....rep work (25+) seems easier to maintain.

Keep up the awesome work bro!!
Thanks man! I may try some rep work with grippers. Maybe try to work up to sets of 25 with the 1.5.

I started to do a little reverse bending today... just getting a feel for the grip and wrap placement. Lots of work to do with this style. I also got some easy reps in with the Wrist Developer.

What I have found good is on the days where I pretty much know I will not be very strong on the grippers I will do an easy gripper and just do the last 5-8mm of the close (all reps closing hard) usually ending up with 25-100 reps.
I make sure the pinky/ring are really working.
I think this builds very specific muscle in the hands to help with grippers.

Cheers bro, keep up the great work across the board.

Thanks bro! I'm definitely going to try that. I need to mix it up a little too. I've never actually done high-rep stuff with grippers so this should be fun too!

Thanks! Starting to work in your higher-rep advice with the grippers. Wow! The forearm pump was massive. I'm curious to see how it'll translate over to 1-rep stuff. (Been stuck right at (few mm) a 2.5 for a long time!)

I've been having some shoulder pain (among other things), so have been playing it conservatively with DO lately. But, the Red felt super-easy today! I tried a 600lb. bar for the first time in about a year, and it didn't disappoint. Got stuck around 90 degrees... could have gotten it a little more, but it wasn't worth risking another injury.

Hey bro, I do not think you will see a direct effect on the 1 rep stuff......long term yes.

I feel the high rep stuff helps your hand grow which will of course help and also gets you used to holding that closed position through repetition.

Hope that makes sense and hope your shoulder is ok too!!

Yeah, I always figured that. But it's time to switch it up some. Have been stuck on the 2.5 for awhile. That rep work felt great too ... gave me a different reason to do the grippers (or a different challenge). I'm thinking if I continue to do one "hard set" with the #2, I'll at least maintain where I'm at, and maybe the extra rep work will help some of the nagging bending injuries in the forearms.

I think this was my first full-bend with the 6.25" G8 (black). I know I've gotten close lately, but took this one to about 50 degrees. The Hub lift felt strong (finally got it on video too). Bench and reverse felt weak today. I need to mess around with positioning with reverse; the second attempt was a lot quicker than the first, after having done some experimentation.
