    The double underhand Red Nail bend in single wraps was a first and a huge PR today! I've been after this one for well over a year and my previous best was around 25 degrees. (For an official DU bend, the bar has to surpass 40 degrees.) I bent a Red double underhand about two years ago, but it was with double wraps. When you get into singles, it's night-and-day, especially with DU.

    I made my attempt at the FBBC Bast. double underhand cert. today ... took it to just over 40 degrees (the requirement for DU bends). If it passes, I will be the 10th person to have done it officially. I probally should have waited a few more days to attempt it, due to still having been beat up from the Red DU bend a few days ago. But, I wanted to take it down and couldn't wait!

    Today, I was going to do a deload, raw session, but continue to experience some hip pain with anything over 315. So, I went through my "garbage" and found an old pair on Inzer Power Pants. Anyone that has trained in these know they are about as thick/strong as a good pair of boxers. These things fit me when I weighed 230 (I'm about 195 now), so they were on the looser side.

    I brought my normal stance in a little, and was planning on stopping at 385. But 385 felt awesome and I decided to try 405. Same thing with 405. So I tried one more set at 425, which felt solid. I haven't really gone over 405 without briefs or a suit in years, and have no idea what my actual raw max is right now. But, todays reps felt pretty strong. (It seems like my raw #s have been climbing, in my mostly exclusive training with single-ply briefs for the past year.)

    This was my first time with the adjustable thickbar, and I had no idea of where to start, so I started really low. I also alternated between the two middle handles up until 130, and then went with the second smallest. This was a fun workout, and I am anxious to see what I can max out at the next workout! The 415 reverse band was a PR.

    Thought I had a chance at the Golden, but it froze up after 2 hits. I took the wraps off to measure, and saw it was just over 35 degrees. I tried to get the wraps back on, but they collapsed and I couldn't get the bar back in. Next time, it will go down! This was my second time with the adjustable thick bar. 190 came up a little, and 185 was a solid lift. Going to work this until I can get 200lbs., and then I will analyze my program for it.

    This was my first time trying pulls off of blocks. They were only 2 inches high, but definitely altered the technique at the bottom, making the first few warmups a little awkward. I'm hoping to add a few things into the routine, to give me a better chance at reaching my long-term (5+ years now) goal of a 600lb. deadlift. Next up, though, is a triple-bodyweight pull of 585, which I think will fall before the end of the year.

    I won't be able to wear knee wraps for a few weeks, due to a new tattoo. I definitely felt the difference today without them, as I normally don't do any reps over 425 without wraps.

    The 315 felt pretty solid. I might have been good for a fourth rep, but it would have been a grinder-type. I was doing some experimenting with feet position today, and had a solid 385 with the Slingshot. But the 405 wasn't even close. On my redemption attempt, I went back to the old setup, and got a solid rep.

    Today was the first time I have ever done anything over 315 for reps on bench raw. The 320 was fast/solid on the first two reps, then had to fight the third up. The 405 rep with the Slingshot was a lot better than last week.

    Great sessions especially the benching. I've been meaning to get a slingshot up here I used to play around with one back at my old gym in CT.
