    I'm thinking about doing a bench-only meet soon. But, the rules state that the feet must be completely flat on the ground during the lift. I don't lift this way ... always have heels up. But today, I did all of my sets with feet flat. It was a little awkward, and I didn't really like it, but it didn't seem to affect my overall numbers too much.

    I tried the old Ironmind Hub for the first time in years today. (Also did a hub session yesterday, so didn't go all-out.) The differences in surface between the new/old hub is huge. The old one doesn't take chalk at all and is glossy/slippery on the surface. The 45 went up OK ... might have been able to get 50 up, but didn't want to push it like that two days in a row. In comparison between the two Hubs, my max with the old one is probably 47.5-50, and my max with the new one is just off of 60. I am going to train with the old one for a few weeks, which I think will really carry over and bump my numbers on the new one.

    I finally got 60lbs. on the hub today. I tried a quick session with the old hub, which doesn't hold chalk and is considerably more difficult. Then, I switched to the new hub, hoping to jump-start a PR. The first two attempts with 60 came up, but I dropped one and the other was only a few inches. On to 65!

    This was a huge meet ... 72 total competitors. There were eight guys in my division (bench-only) and I took 2nd overall. The pause/press commands were tough, which took a lot out of me on the second attempt. But, I was able to come back for an OK third. I am going to continue to mess with my programming over the next two months, and start working toward a 365 raw bench ... then 385, which would be double-bodyweight.

    I was planning on hitting 225 for 15 reps, and really suprised myself with being able to get 20. I am planning on doing some grip competitions in the upcomming year and need to find out where I'm at with some events I've never done before, like 1-hand axle deadlifts and various pinch lifts (1- and 2-hand). Today, I did some experimenting with various lifts.
