The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Eric Spoto benches 700 raw!!!

Mark Bell posted this video. This is his second attempt and it looked like an opener. If everything goes his way on November 3rd, he will break the all-time bench record!

No doubt. He's just inhuman with his bench strength. Nothing looks heavy in his hands. Even the 700 which is probably 95-98% of his max looks effortless. It's gonna be amazing to see this guy come out of nowhere and smash Mendelson's long standing 715.

Was this his first meet? I remember a recent interview he did with Mark Bell about how he came out of nowhere and hadn't even done a meet yet!

I don't think he did. Mark Bell made it seem like he is saving it for his November 3rd meet.

Believe he gets $5500 if he breaks the record at Bell's meet.

I can see this going on for a while. Shows up at bench expos, hits an opener lift just to beat the field and win some money. No need to destroy the record when you win a bit of cash everytime you beat it.

There are a lot ov big badass benchers out there... but Eric is the only one that just seems to make the plates look fake. They literally look like plastic 45's the way the bar goes up. I hate to add to the hype ov a guy thats not yet proven himself, but this guy really does look like the next level...

    Does he squat or deadlift...???

I thought Eric's first few videos were fake. Nobody moves that kind of weight that fast. After a little searching, I discovered he was legit. His lifts are just that damned impressively quick! I don't doubt Eric will hit 720 lbs. If the man stays healthy, I see a 740 ~ 750 lbs bench in his future. Simply incredible.

That Backyard meet will be crazy. Efferding will go 2300, Dan Green (who just hit a 635 front squat) will do something unreal, and Spoto breaking the all-time WR.

Is that the same Green that just totaled 2000 with just a belt? That guy is strong.

Yep. It seems like every week he PRs. I think Brent Willis and Vince Urbank are pulling too.

There legitimately might be an entire flight of 800 lb pullers
