    Why can't I get wider lats?

    My upper back is making good progress (thanks to pullups, and lat-pull downs), and my lower back is making even better progress (I really like my lower back). The strange thing is that my lats don't seem to be getting any wider. This is my back routine:
    T-bar 4x5-8
    Seated rows 3x5-8
    Pull-ups 3x5-10 (20 seconds of rest in between so that I fatigue faster)
    Lat pull downs 3x5-8

    Could someone please give my some advise?

    Maybe you are over-working them? If you do a wie grip t-bar you will feel it pretty far out on your lats, and both pull ups and lat pull downs hit the lats as well. How about getting rid of one exercise?

    Try adding weight to the chins.


    Do you know how to actually feel your lats doing the work? Or do you feel it a lot in the arms?

    On the lat pull down, I think I do, but as my lats are my worst area, I'm not sure if I really am.

    on pull ups/pull down. have a slight arch in your back.

    if your to straight the shoulders start to take more of the work.
    my exprience - joined gym 10 years ago, 6 1/2 years hard weight training exprience.

    I did 9 sets of 10 pulls twice a week on a gravitron. (wide, regular, close grip)
    after 3 months I could do all 9 with no assistance from the gravitron, 3 months after that I had wings.
    I haven't done a serious lat building workout since that (about 4 years) and I can still spread some impressive wings.

    gravitron is a pullup machine that you kinda kneel on and it provides assistance when doing pullups
