The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    ideal workout week for mesomorphs?

as the title says, im wondering what the ideal workout week consists of for a mesomorph looking to gain optimum amount of mass quickly.

i have a feeling that my current workout is not gonna cut it...here it is:

    monday:
    3 x 10 barbell incline bench
    3 x 10 dumbell flies
    3 x 10 barbell flat bench

    tuesday:
    4 x 10 squats
4 x 10 hamstring curls (one leg at a time)
4 x 10 leg extensiosn (one leg at a time)
    3 x 20 seated calf raises

    wednesday:
    4 x 10 lat pulldowns
    4 x 10 back rows
i forgot what else we did

thursday: (had off due to 4th of july)

    friday:
    did legs again.

obviously this is not going to work. what do you guys think?

    help me please!

Why not just follow a normal split?

I know whatcha mean about your week getting messed up, but one week ain't gonna destroy ya.

That body composition thing is crap.

Train smartly. That routine isn't a smart routine.

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Here's a routine that Powerman helped me devise that gave me lots of strength and mass:

    Monday:

    BB bench: 2x6
    Dips: 3x5
    Incline Flyes: 2x8
    French Press: 2x8

    Wednesday:

    Deadlift- 4,8
    Weighted Pullups - 3x5
    Seated Cable row- 2x8
    Any curl: 2x8

    Friday:

Squat- warmup, 4x3 or 2 x 10 depending on how you feel
    Leg curl- 3x8
    Leg Press- 2x8
    Some calf raises

There are tonnes of ways you can go about getting big(ger). The programs on the WBB main site made by Maki are also an excellent choice. Powerman gave me this program and it did wonders. However, Maki has been training me on all sorts of different programs and they've all worked. So there's lots of ways to go about things. But, some ways will work better for you than others.

If you have lots of time since it's summer, (providing that it is summer for you and if you're currently in school, but having summer break) I would recommend training twice a day. As long as volume remains relatively low, you'll see awesome gains. Happened to me last year.

I dunno, if I agree with that, training once a day is quite plenty IMO. DOnt want to over do anything.

You can't ignore the positives of training twice a day. Of course you won't be doing the same body part twice a day, but say you do Chest in the morning, and then shoulders and triceps in the evening; that will provide 2 windows of opportunities and other benefits that I'm not really sure about lol. Powerman did it, Maki did it, and I did it. I found it really effective.

As far as someone just getting into fitness/bodybuilding pretty new into it I wouldnt suggest it I am saying. As far as something to be possibe down the road once he gets used to a routine, then yeah I say it could have benifits.

the body composition stuff is pretty much crap and even if its valid does not really effect the way youd train for maximal results.

Eric also mentioned the body composition stuff being "crap". What the #$%@ are you guys talking about? There are CLEARLY different bodytypes and it only follows that each type can train in different ways to maximize their own potential.
As far as training for a mesomorph goes I am unfortunately not the one to ask .
