What's the difference between these 3 or are they all the same, just called by different names?
Can anyone give me some examples or list of foods/fruits containing Starchy carbs, hi GI carbs, and simple carbs?
Now, while cutting, you should avoid Starchy carbs, hi GI carbs, and simple carbs except for post work-out right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
From what I understand there are two types of carbs:
SIMPLE (simple sugars) & COMPLEX (starches)
And these can be divided into
HI GI (breads, crackers, pastries, and sweets)
LOW GI (Fruits, vegetables, whole grains and high fiber foods )
I think SIMPLE/HIGH GI after workout is recommended.
And COMPLEX/LOW GI during day...
Thanks for the response, but can you give some examples of complex carbs/low GI carbs??
Oats, rice, pastas... to name a few.
High GI/Starchy = Potatoes/White Rice/Noodles/Wonder Bread
Low GI = Oatmeal/Brown Rice and to an extent, Veggies too
Simple Carbs = Dextrose/Maltodextrin (Sugar)
