The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

What would you trade for 20lbs of LBM?

There seem to be a lot of posts around goals and what everyone wants to look like, etc.

Here is a late night drinking game that can be very revealing about just how far you would go to get what you want.

    THE Rules.

You must trade / change a physical attribute about yourself for other physical attributes.

example : would you trade your hair (go bald) for 20 lbs of permanent (no maintence necessary) lean body mass.? How about 50lbs? How about keeping your hair but loosing 4" in height?

    You get the idea...

Three people can keep a secret so long as two of them are dead

I don't think I'd trade anything for such a magical addition to LBM... bodybuilding is an iterative process, where you build on what went before, and part of the enjoyment is that sense of accomplishment you get as you grow.

Getting muscle 'for free' would devalue the muscle gained... would you really feel as good about being buff if you didn't have to work to get there?

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

    true.
and i am also with reiner here. I started off very late. I missed the starting gun and now I am trying to run very fast to catch up.
I dont mind a 'magical' gain in lbm which would save me a few years of hard work before I grow cold and old. In the meanwhile I would not ofcourse stop bb'ing at all but get bigger and add few more pounds of lbm to those free 20 pounds of lbm.

Ok, you've got the right idea. Everyone else remember DRINKING game. This is for fun... and no you can't trade body fat for muscle, but the other way around is ok. Lose muscle to lose bodyfat that could be interesting (or is that just a bad cutting diet?)

Why trade something you don't have for something that's a lost cause?
