My Belated New Year's Resolution is.....

Alright let's see what kind of goal setters we've got ~~~~~

My goal is to compete in a BB contest. I had this penciled in for March, but my shoulder has proved uncooperative for training most of the fall causing me lots of frustration, and after my last deload week, I got the flu ~ which wiped me out for another week.

Does this pose make my camera look big?

Great goal! How long have you been training for you bodybuilding competition? I'm also planning to do the Dexter Jackson Classic in the beginning of August.

    Sweet ~~~

I was planning on competing in March, but I injured my shoulder last September, and I have really been struggling with it (have an appointment to review MRI data w/ my Ortho. guy next week). This as obviously held me back on some development.

Then I suspended my diet through the holidays. In September I was down to 206 ~ then the issues started popping up ~~~ I clocked in at 212 lbs this morning, so I've got 22-ish lbs to go.

My show is going to be the Carolina Super Natural June 15th (leaving 22 weeks before contest date).

Hahaha! No shit! Except it already started iffy. Found out last week I had a sinus infection, strep throat and bronchitis! Still went and did the two man 1,200# deadlift event for charity on Saturday though... Lol. It can only go up from here!

So, I thought I'd post an update on my New Year's resolution ~ which was to compete in a bodybuilding contest on June 15 (this coming Saturday).

I have reached my target weight of 190 (that I had originally set), but now that I'm @ 190, it is clear that I am still not in contest condition.

I've decided to continue preparation and compete in a different contest on August 10th.

Here is a side triceps from last week.

At some point you have to just do the show. In other words, no excuses leading up to the show in August.

I'm curious, how did you injure your shoulder?

I agree with the need to do it, and have no plans of missing the show in August.

As to the shoulder, it was an injury by degrees.

    1. Little bit of repetitive stress (at my desk)
    2. Little bit of Aikido (http://youtu.be/-0xfHMyIfM4)
    3. Little bit of Brazilian Jujutsu (Kimura Lock)
    4. Little more repetitive stress at desk
    5. A whole lot of not listening to bio-feedback ~ continuing to work through joint discomfort, etc.

It is slowly (with the emphasis on 'slowly') getting better.
