    Who wants a big back?

Here's another article by John Meadows on different row variations.

Check it out, I know I'm going try a few of these this week.

John is a great guy. I've talked to him on many occasions, I've used all the variations of rows, my personal favorite is single arm BB rows. He has that in the trenches experience and works his ass off. He has one if the thickest and freakiest builds. Always comes in crazy shredded and dry.

Some good recommendations in that article; thank you for sharing it.

I have tried a lot of the variations that he discussed but never bent over rows with the Trap Bar... will have to give them a go.

Thanks for sharing the article. I've been wanting to try some different back movements such as his meadow rows, but I always forget. I'll definitely be incorporating some of these into my routine.

does anyone know where or who sells/makes the meadows row handle. I tried the style of rowing without the handle and I liked it very much. Also, still having some issues with mind muscle connection when doing a pullup. just cant figure out how to squeeze that muscle.

I did something interesting today. It was really driven by sheer laziness. My training partner was doing reverse band benching, or future method benching. I decided to do some bent-over rows with the reverse bands just to see what it felt it. It was actually pretty cool. Something you may want to try.

Chris, How high did you have the bands set? That actually sounds like fun, might have to give those a try.

Pull with you elbows on all back movements, this helps pull your arms out of the equation.

We have a Westside power rack. The bands were green (or "average" Westside bands) and suspended from the crossbars at the top.

So I tried the Trap Bar Rows today, I like having the handles on the side since it does allow you to 'sqeeze' more at the top but I did run into a bit of a problem. Not sure if this will impact everyone but the Trap Bar that I was using kept hitting my backside unless I did straight-leg rows or put my hands all of the way at the front of the handles (which made it a bit more difficult). As an alternative I may try doing some inverted rows with the trap bar, putting it on the pins of a power rack and my legs on a bench then rowing myself to the bar.

Also - I saw that Chris mentioned bands and one variation that I really like is to do Lat Pull-downs against bands. I have done this by anchoring mini bands (doubled) to the base of a plate-load Lat Pulldown and it provided a good increase in tension as you complete the pull.
