Well I came to the conclusion that squats tend to knock my ribs out of place. So those are out. What would you recommend to take its place? Thanks
Is there a way to correct your form or bar position so you can squat? Is it weight dependent?
Have you tried squatting with a safety squat bar, cambered bar or even a thicker diameter bar so that all the weight doesn't sit in one spot?

Which ribs are getting knocked out of place? Have you seen a chiro or good physio? If it is one of your upper thoracics, it makes me wonder if you are flexed/bent over in the upper thorac--too kyphotic.
