Amazing at how much control he has with that amount of weight.

I wonder how much more he could do if they let him bench with his cap on?

Super strong, but he was about half way up when given the press command... I saw a video of Bell's not locked-out pull as well. A meet is a meet, and Spoto got the lift, but unless the judging gets a little tighter people are going to lose respect for lifts done at those ST meets (at least some of the lifts).

And NO, I am NOT a Spoto hater. I think the man is an amazing presser. I just think all-time records should have reasonably strict judging.

Here's the link to the vid off of powerlifting watch. I'm pretty sure that it is the same lift, and you get a better view of the pause and the head ref giving the press command. Really shows how much lag there are in some video clips between the vid stream and the audio:

Eric didn't press until the command was given, the lag on the sound was AWFUL. There is another video to show it with better sound. I can't wait to hear what mendelson has to say.

Well, it certainly looks a LOT better there. I stand corrected.

When there is THAT much weight on the bar, i really hate seeing records broken by 1lb. I was also expecting some soft handoff and lockout. But DAMN. That was about as legit as an all-time world record is going to get. I consider myself a pretty strong guy all things considered... and i wish i could deadlift that... 722lbs.

    Jesus Christ that was awesome!

Side note, how sad is it that I felt like that guy when I benched yesterday, and I only moved 315!!!

    How about this...

    Spoto's 722lb bench was only 43lbs less than my starting total... . . .

The bench was awesome.. but at the same time Stan Efferding side spotting... that was equally awesome. think about it. How often are you at meets where all time world record holders are working the platform?
    Finally ELITE @ SHW..

Single ply: 931 squat, 760 bench, 530 deadlift and 2180 total
Multi ply: 960 squat, 770 bench, 550 deadlift and 2250 total.

Must be something about the ultimate all-time all-class world record benches then... Mendy's 715 had Ed Coan and Godzilla on the platform...

Saw him speed bench 700 at the Cage at the Arnold. His forearms are just horrifying.

I love how this guy's intensity is so internal. He looks so calm when he lifts, does what he intends to do, and immediately thanks his his training partner.

If I were him, I'd totally would request oversized checks everytime I get cash like in Happy Gilmore haha
