How often does everyone here do ab work? Every day? Just on lower days? Do you think abs need an effciant amount of recovery time just as any other muscle does, like hit them hard once or twice a week then rest them?
I like 2x per week for 12-16 sets each. Ive hit my best squat and dl lifts doing that.

I used to never do them, until my gym got a new Mauy thai coach. Now its at least 200 a day. Today was 400 (morning and night class), and I still dont have a 6 pack...
Never. Olympic lifting, with all its various assistance (OLympic squats, deads, pulls) are more than enough. Even if i wasn't Olympic lifting while i powerlifted, i'd still skip the ab work and stick with front squats for core (Olympic style only, and no belt). I think the last time i had actual ab work in my split was about 6 years ago.
If i'm training others that dont O-lift at all i'll throw in some ab work twice a week to keep them happy, but they'll still do front squats.

Do them on both lower body days, heavy. 4x5-8. Before bed crunches and side crunches, 20 reps each. It's made a big difference for me. Used to neglect them big time.
I usally do abs 2x a week on my SQ/DL day and again on my Back day
