The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    570 Raw Bench Vid

I feel good about this lift. Looking forward to what I can do with two weeks of light work and recovery. It's been a brutal cycle. The volume has been nuts.

My meet max at 275 was a grinding 570. Actually, 570 was my best in a meet and 560 was my best in the gym at this bodyweight.

No Insult here. Is that bench high or do you have short legs or am I just an idiot?
    Very Stout bench btw.

Weakest person on the forum, and my bench is higher than my squat.

I don't find it as an insult, but I don't get it either. It's a standard size bench. I'm 5'8" and I have never been told I have short legs.

My training partner and I have a very similar bench form as you, and we are not tall (5'10" and 6') and I can my heels are barely off the ground as well as his, and I just noticed it looks like you barely have your toes on the ground. I doubt I've ever benched on a standard size bench though, so that's probably the issue.

Or I probably just don't tuck my feet quite as far back. I've just been trying to notice people's form more recently.

Feet look pretty planted there to me. Must be the way you are looking at it. I'm about the same height as Vin and bench just like that.

Strong work Vincent! You look well on your way to reaching your goals.

Solid! Nice setup, BTW. Looked real comfortable.

Vin, off topic, but when's the last time you worked in a shirt, or when are you planning on doing a shirted training circuit again?

I have not had a shirt on since the EliteFTS UGSS earlier in the year. That was for one day for fun. Prior to that, it was for one day last summer for the Last Man Standing Bench Contest.

I plan on returning to the shirt full time for a while. I'm not sure whether I will be dropping to 270 to be a light 275 or heading down to around 250 for the 242's. I guess I'll know when I get there. I do want to try and perfect the shirt. I think I can be a much more proficient equipped bencher if I devote more time to it.
