I've been working out hard for about 5 years and currently at 190 (6ft tall) and weighed 140 first starting out. I feel like I've really hit a plateau but am so used to my go to routine it's been really hard to do anything else.
This had been my routine for most of those 5 years:
Inc db chest
Either seated wide or close row or 1 arm rows
Tris either skulls or cable pull down
Db lateral raise
Ez or db curls
Inc bb chest
I would do more volume and lighter weights interspersed throughout a month for variety and so I'm not going heavy all the time. I would then invert the days and do shoulders twice in the week and chest once then reverse again.
Now is this routine any better than a push/pull/legs routine like:
Db inc chest
Db lateral raises
Leg extensions calf raises
Any advice or critiques? Should I just stick with my original routine but just try to add weight and progress?
