I have only used them sporadically with benching. Considering lockout is the weakest part of my bench, I'm thinking about implementing them on a regular basis. Bands on DE weekly and either bands or chains on ME. I want to try this for an entire training cycle and see what happens. Thoughts?
Bands and chains have helped my shirted bench more than anything else. We use them all the time, even when we are doing shirted lifting. If you're focus is to improve your shirted bench I think they are great. My raw bench pretty much sucks and I honestly don't focus on it, so I don't know how much it would improve raw work.
I think it would be a good idea for you Vincent. It places the emphasis on the lockout which is exactly what you need.

Ryan kennelly recommended that. He would always have some accomidating resistance on the bar when I trained with him. Even if it was 1 chain per side.
I think bands can beat you up too much. I use chains all the time though. Just vary how I set them up, how many, fold them in half twice so they add on really quick, etc.
I'd agree with marcus, a lot of guys seem to struggle with elbow and shoulder health with bands only. A healthy balance is usually what works best. Going to one extreme or the other seems to incur injury.
Ok, thanks all. I think I will do 3 weeks waves of bands or chains on DE work. ME will be one or the other. If I feel too beat up I will got straight weight on ME on that given week.
