The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Off topic question

What shoes does everyone wear. My feet are killing me and I need to find a solid pair of shoes. I walk a good bit at work on concrete. Nikes kill my arches. I'm in new balances now but they don't hold up for me long.

    Any tips?

Yeah take a look into some quality work boots that fit just right. They are super expensive but will last a lot longer than shoes.

Down the road you might want to look into good inserts/orthotics. The problem is finding a good practitioner to mold them or finding a good commercial brand.

Redwing 8" work boots. Feet will love you for them. Great to work out in as well.

You need to go to a quality shoe store (like an outdoor retailer or something) and have them fit you for shoes. Not every brand will fit you correctly; some are better for supination, others for pronation, some for high arches, some for collapsed arches, some that need additional inserts to meet your needs, others not, some for heavy heel walkers, others for fore foot dominant, etc...

look at non issue boots that are popular with soldiers, preferably infantry because good boots really matter to these guys. Lowas and Altberg are popular with UK guys. just dont buy cheap (Magnum, addidas or Bates) i've seen them fall apart in a matter of weeks from nothing more than walking around the base

If you're looking for the most comfortable and durable sneakers out there I would get a pair of Jordans. They're high end basketball shoes made by Nike but I walk a lot in them and each pair has lasted me for over a year with little wear.

LOL at wearing Jordan's while working at an adult day program work center. I think that is where Scott works still. Sorry Murderous, you probably didn't know that.

I wear Rockport Adiprene by Adidas. My feet can get very sore and these have been amazing. I have a few pair and switch them up daily. Couple of things I have learned along the way to keep my hooves in working condition. Shoes don't last forever, they need to be replaced more often than I care to buy them. Don't wear the same shoes everyday. These suckers need a break from the beating we put on them. Lastly, you get what you pay for.
