The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

    Finally Got My "Big" Pull

Over the past few years, many here have encouraged, educated, and helped me resolve lifting problems, so I just wanted to let you know that after nearly two years of chasing the dream, I finally joined the 500 lb deadlift club, pulling 501.5 raw at the Orlando Barbell APF Florida State Meet on February 22nd. It is an APF raw record (165 lb class, age 65 to 69 division) and will be ranked #13 on the PL Watch masters' list. Thank you so much for helping me make it happen.

Great job Al. I remember seeing you deadlift high 400s a couple years ago. I haven't been to the last 3 or so meets that Brian has had, but I will most likely be at some of them in the future again.
    Best competition lifts:
    650lbs. raw squat
    441lbs. raw bench
    580lbs. raw deadlift

Brian's meets are always fun, but this one had an added benefit: It was short! I was home for dinner.

I'm moving to VA in a few months, so that was probably my last meet with the Orlando Barbell team, but I'll always cherish the memories. Hope you get to some though. By the way, thanks for recommending I take bigger jumps with my attempts (bet you don't even remember), April. It's made a difference to have a bit more in the tank when I get to that final lift.

Sure no problem. I don't really remember exactly. But I have told many people that same thing.
