Thread: high reps/light weights...low reps/heavy weights.

    I need to get back in shape..and you guys are going to help me... i am 5-6 and weigh around 195..I have been lifting off and on for awhile and i do have some muscle.. but some fat..i could lose about 30 lbs..which is my goal..I am going to start lifting on monday..SERIOUS LIFTING... Should i go heavy with low reps or light with high reps...or to failure..all opinions will be helpful..thanks for the help

    Use both.

    Do 1-3 sets of 1-5 reps, and 1-2 sets of 10-15 reps.

    Heavy for low reps works well for me....
    it's a long way to the top from here...
