    Just found this thread.
Hey hey...I am definitely in this.
Current max is 250 @ 160 lbs or 1.5 bw.
now I am at the wrong end of an exponential curve
my bodyweight is going up and my bench isnt.....
but this should get me motivated.

Damn nice work Adam! 300 @ 176 lbs. is nuts man. Keep up the hard work.

I am a ways off from a double BW bench, LOL. I would have to be pressing 440 lbs. or so to get a double BW bench.. jeez.

    hmmm, not 2*bw but almost. . .

420 in competition with 3 judges and lights. . .
at 214 lb. . .really close. . no formal bench training. . .just did some extra close grip for a few weeks and concentrated on benching 5% more each bench session for a month. .

My friend and his brother who got me to participate said if I used a bench shirt I would have blown away a 450+ . . .I would like to see what I can do but I bbuild primarily and a torn pec etc. does not look good. .so for the time being I am leaving it at that. . :-)

Just curious, what do the plates weigh? It looks to me like you have 3 45s, a 35, and a 5 per side. That comes to 395 lbs. I assume the clamps don't weigh 25 lbs. Am I missing something?

Also, you stated in another post that your strength was up, and you got 330 for 8. It would be tough to do 420 with a pause if you can do 330 for 8 without a pause. Did your meet not require a pause?

the meet was almost a year ago. . .

and I was on the gas. . .the plates are competition plates and not 45's etc. .it is 420:-) the judges were actually really anal and the pause was pronounced. almost a 2 count by what I felt. . .also, my training reps are almost always 301 tempo so with a bit more speed involved I could probably do 12+ with the 330:-)
    no bull**** here;-)

I have never heard of competition plates being vastly different than standard Olympic weights. Is that accurate, has anyone else heard of this. PL competitors?

    if you like. .

I can have the ymca that I did the meet at give me the specs on the plates. . .they do olympic lifting there as well so the plates are not your ordinary york bbell co.. .
I was given the weight in lb but the plates may have been in KG for all I know. .I did not load the bar, the pit assistants did all that and there were 3 cpa judges there so I did not question.

Chris, a lot of them use like 25 KG plates. Sometimes even 100's. I never know what's on the bar at those meets. I just lift. Also, some collars they use are 5 lbs each or 10 lbs each.

This is a very impressive bench. Just so you know, my buddy's best raw bench at about the same weight as you is ~400 touch and go and he has paused 445 in a good shirt. I think if your lockout isn't a weakness you could bang high 400's in a good shirt.

    Nice Bench!
And in canadian meets we do use 25kg plates most of the time.

Very good. I knew about the 100s, but those weren't them. I did not know about the 25kg plates, learn something new every day.

I'll throw in my once in a blue moon update.

    Best so far:

    350 x 1 with room to spare.

All right.....what better thread to place my first post in than this one? I gotta get in on this challenge. Looks like great motivation.

    I'm doing 250 X 1 now @ 180. Hopefully I can make some gains.
